ParticipantRe: AEG drum query
Thanks for that eastlmark, thought an integrated high price point machine might be blessed with something other than Electrolux’s usual welded plastic crap but as it has failed within 3 years I guess not.
Poor show 🙁

ParticipantRe: Indesit Lay Off 1425 Workers
Feel sorry for the employees but in the race to the bottom, to build the cheapest crappiest landfill fodder in the shape of a domestic appliance,Indesit should never forget there will always be someone who will do it even cheaper 😯

Bored today so stripped ‘stat down to it’s component parts.Bi-metal disc and associated mechanism working fine, switch contacts perfect and shiny, yet was still getting o/c at output terminals 😕
Then I noticed the joint between one of the tags and the switch was not quite properly crimped and that was the actual problem all along. Why it has worked since its creation in 2009 we shall never know 😯Eddie.

Cheers paul. Had a look at this today, turns out it was the NTC/TOC that sits above the heater. NTC is 40k at room temp and responds normally but the other side is o/c.
There seemed to be good output from the wash pump when I tried it before stripdown & the water level was ok so I’m not sure why it might have gone.I’ve ordered a new one, they’re cheap enough thankfully, fingers crossed 😯

Thanks for the reply. yeah, did read that sticky paul but was hoping someone more familiar with BSH than I am could give an idea of what to chuck in the van before I set out, really dont want two 70 mile round trips with the price of Diesel. 😉

ParticipantRe: hmrc buisness records check
Ah yes, found them. No doubt as they’re now common knowledge the feckers will change the questions totally to throw us off guard 🙂

What exactly did they ask you ADV ❓

ParticipantRe: Indesit IWB 5123 totally dead.
Cheers for that info Jem, I will call EMW on Monday to see if they think it’s repairable.
Indesit crap, can it get much worse? 🙁

ParticipantRe: Good News (For Us, Maybe)
It really is what is needed, legislation is the only thing that will make manufacturers change their horrendously wasteful ways, which get worse year after year.
The shareholder is the priority, the bottom line is king. The customer or the environment really don’t figure highly on their list of priorities 🙁

ParticipantRe: Impatient and ignorant
When I started 20 odd years ago I didn’t even have a mobile number advertised for the punters, couldn’t be bothered with them calling me on the job.
Would get home and find 6 or 7 calls on the answering machine and most would still be waiting for your call…happy days.I think the general public have certainly become more demanding and want everything done same day for minimal money.
What the hell can ya do ? 🙁

Think about it.
Exactly. Even if you just charge a nominal fee, 20 quid or whatever, the piss takers will magically melt away.Quality over quantity every time IMO

ParticipantRe: Interesting stuff in the papers…
Nat grid only allow a maximum of 0.2HZ variation from the target 50HZ so the Mail saying appliances would trigger at 47HZ is complete bollox IMO.
As you say Twicknix, price will probably sort their load balancing worries out more effectively than ‘frequency aware’ appliances.
Mind you, if it puts £40 on the price and means more breakdowns then I’m all for it 8)Madmac

All that fecker will want to do is bulldoze the entire site and cover it in wind turbines,it’s happening in many of our most beautiful areas, he’s obsessed with them 🙁Madmac
ParticipantRe: Icetech (Norfrost) Bust Again
Thats a real shame, have fixed a few of their little upright freezers, people around here bought quite a few, aware that they were supporting a Highland factory.
Its no doubt cheaper to ship a container half way round the world than send an articulated wagon down the A9 from Caithness.
🙁
