Vicious cycle of globalization, unemployment and welfare handouts funky.
Full employment of the fifties where western nations tended to manufacture at home slowly destroyed by outsourcing, leading to mass unemployment.

Never mind though, have 10 kids and pick up enough ‘free’ money to buy the chinese telly and washer anyway, let the idiots who pay taxes pick up the bill. Simples.

These vague complaints can be a right pain in the arse,if the fan is spinning as quickly as it should it really only leaves a temp issue or customers imagination.

Best 15 quid I spent recently was on a non-contact infra red thermometer, stick a Pyrex dish in oven so you have something to aim at and wait for stat to trigger at selected temp, open door and point your laser gun at it!

Gives you the ultimate proof of temp and makes you look right clever! (probably)

What does the pic of Geoff capes prove Martin? 😉

Country of manufacture is indeed less important than it once was when talking about the quality of the end product.

Its the ‘eggs all in one basket’ approach thats the problem. Dear departed Maggie thought the British economy should be based mainly on the financial sector and manufacturing should be allowed to wither and die.
state run coal, shipbuilding etc should be plucked from the public teet and strangled once and for all.

What sector has now sucked the country’s teets so hard they now need rubbed with nipple cream ?? That’ll be the financial sector :rolls:

State run manufacturing was a dead end, no doubt about it, but the government should do more to encourage domestic companies who actually make things rather than crunch numbers.

In the states its common these days to see ‘Made in USA’ stickers on things in stores, there is definitely a ‘chinese backlash’ occuring.
    We need that here IMO.

Makes sense to build it in the region you’re selling I guess, India will be the next major cheap labour market I would say,China is already achieving overall cost parity with the west, they weren’t gonna work for peanuts indefinitely 😯

I read in Autocar this week that Bentley (VW) is planning setting up a factory in Slovakia!
Seems a pretty ill advised move IMO, for the type of peeps who can afford a vehicle at that end of the spectrum where it is made is a very important part of the image.
(might change their mind if they ever actually visited Crewe 😆 )

The trouble is hydrogen isn’t really a fuel, its an energy storage medium just like a battery is and producing it is highly inefficient if you’re splitting water with electricity- only 30{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} or so I think.

Super-capacitor would be ideal for rapid charging and in theory, thousands of cycles,if anyone ever develops one thats viable that could fit under your back seat.

photo-voltaic panels on your house roof to top it up,never need to worry about fuel prices again…what a wonderful thing that would be 😯

I certainly wouldn’t get involved in something like that Diesel ,your name would most likely be passed to the insurance company in the event of an appliance blaze, would they pursue you for costs? who knows, I’m all for a quiet life though.

Would Also smell of trying to profit from scaremongering in the public’s view IMO, could be counterproductive. 😯

The ‘undecided’s’ who call you and waste 10 minutes of your life 🙁

Geezer rings today about an old Tricity sovereign with a screeching fan.
Took the time to advise him that it was indeed worth saving if the rest of it was in as good condition as he described it.
Gave him a quote which he seemed happy with, wrote down all the very lengthy instructions of how to find his house and booked him in for wednesday, lovely.

He calls back 20 mins later and announces that his wife just wants to get a new one :rolls:

Why the hell dont people discuss things before they call us? I mean I understand the desire to replace an 18 year old appliance but why waste my time asking for advice then totally ignore that advice.

Get similar people week in week out 👿

I was really commenting on the mindset of the type of customer who buys at the average Beko price point Dr D 😉

They generally realize they shouldn’t expect too much in the way of longevity from their purchase.(Although some still think £200 buys a quality machine)

Doesn’t mean they deserve to be killed by it mind you! 😯

These low price point machines inevitably contain compromises in their components and design, mostly it just means a short useful life and todays customers dont really expect much else, they seem happy to go along with this wasteful system in fact.

When you start getting a reputation for putting your customers lives at risk and indeed being linked to deaths ….. 😯

The gains in market share so hard won in recent years might just start to go on the slide.

I bet Indesit do well of of this 😉

A good quality non residue contact cleaner can vastly improve insulation readings on dusty motors, use it a lot on Bosch machines.

I would always be suspicious of a machine a customer fiddled with, turning it upside down is a favorite solution with your average punter when doing a brush change.

Are you sure the overfilling aint linked to something like that? 😯
