I’m a little puzzled by your comment here, a brand new pump should be pretty quiet really and as it pumps it should only a soft whirring sound. Any louder than that then there’s usually something rattling around the impellor.

Buttons and coins in the pump outlet hose can be a real tease sometimes as they get stuck in the ribbed area and act like a flap-valve. Blow down the hose and it appears clear, but pump water from the other direction and it’s totally blocked….possibly in this case maybe?

Can only see a 26100 listed now, yours must be well old and obsolete I guess? Double check that model number if you would 😉

Some WD12’s have an Eco Ball in the sump hose at the end attached to the drum. The ball acts as a valve and can get blocked, if you have one on yours that is?

    Re: Indesit WD12 drainage/noise problem

The WD12 pump body has 3 holes (inlet, outlet and detergent recovery hose outlet). Therefore don’t forget to fit that 3rd hose on (clean it first though as they get silted up easily)

Also, do check the main drum to pump hose. If yours has an ‘eco ball’ attached then likely as not more parts of that shirt you washed earlier are still stuck in there 😉

I’m also absolutely convinced that this has contributed massively to the downward spiralling of retail prices as all these retailers compete for the same business.

I couldn’t agree more, we’re in the 21st century after all and the world has changed dramatically. We must all accept that the Internet will always win from now on and rightly so. You simply have to jump aboard and go with the flow in order to gain from it, and even now us lowly independents can still do just that.

Browsing through B&Q’s site I find that they pretty well supply an extensive range of whitegoods. They deliver, install and dispose of the old appliances too (e.g Bosch WFO2867 = £371.99 total). Anyone not aversed to ‘Googling’ would find that info in seconds and without UKW’s help either. But if UKW get a slice of that action, so much the better.

It is abundantly clear that the ‘corner shoptraders’ are getting squeezed into submission by all this aggressive marketing. They will find it harder and harder to survive unless they can digress and increase their margins in some way. UKW in no small way has helped tremendously in that respect as I’m sure you realise.

The likes of B&Q can survive without UKW but could UKW survive without the likes of B&Q?…just a thought 😉

We’ve every confidence in you Sue

So once you’ve put it back together it’ll be back to square one I guess? Not heating and Empty Water light glowing faintly I suspect? In that case it may well be the actual timer at fault (heater contact burns out inside timer) 🙁

I believe the A&L have similar ‘trip wires’ in their business package too (in the small print) ..I’m with Lloyds TSB for my sins and they have got to top the charts for their robbing techniques. For example if (for example) I was to go to them right now and hand over £5 to put into my account they would charge me 70 pence for the privilege 👿

It could be anything in all honesty, and the usual suspects need checking out of course. The fault is not indicative of any specific failure so Motor, Module, wiring etc are all questionable at this stage I’m afraid. 🙁

If you can be a little more specific and give us the model number as well, I’m sure we can help further 🙂

    Jeremy,

Far play to you mate for your comments on the subject and the many respondents have answered you well I think. In the light of that response, perhaps you are not necessarily convinced, and I can assure you that you are not alone in that belief if the results (so far) of a poll I posted are to be understood.

Bryan referred you earlier to that thread and the vote is split almost 50/50 on the subject.

Now I brought the subject up then because I too thought too much information was likely given out on the one hand and would lead to certain safety/liability issues on the other. Since last August I have taken on board many of the views and opinions of trade members and concluded that the balance is EXACTLY right and that the aims and intentions of UKW and its members are likewise steering us all in the right direction.

Finally let me assure you that we moderate every single post and stand in judgement over them as to whether or not any postee’s have overstepped the mark. If they have, it is dealt with immediately and for the most part usually reaches a happy conclusion or an even compromise. Now if you have any issues or concerns on any such posts in the future, then do please PM any Moderator to help you out. 🙂
