My typical case:
Job last week, was asked to call after 4pm and as I normally finish at 1 pm, it meant a special trip (14 mile round trip) 🙁
I get there, am invited in and we stand staring at the washing machine (like you do) The bloke then says that he’s tried 3 washes in it since he phoned me and it’s working just fine! I say, not to worry but I will give it a good checkover whilst I’m here……
…But he says he doesn’t want me to look at it and points to the door. I say “Hang on a minute, you owe me £40 set labour charge!”…”Your advert says NO CALL OUT CHARGE, so I’m not paying you anything matey!”….I ask him to show me where exactly in my advertising does it state that? (It doesn’t by the way – ‘cos I don’t do owt fer nowt)
A doorstep arguement was averted after I called him (something terribly rude 😯 ) and walked away from what may have been a crime scene!!!
….so jump in my van and back home I go, swearing like GB does!Footnote to all this ranting: My local friendly Trading Standards Officer (Squash Club mate of mine) says that I should claim through the Small Claims Court in these instances as a “Verbal contract was agreed upon and will be upheld in court”
Yeah right 🙄 ….

To ‘abort’ any programme, you need to set the selector to “X” then press the Start button again. The LED’s will then flash in sequence to confirm the reset. Now as long as that procedure has been followed and it still wont play ball, then YES the board is a fault 🙁
The bad news then will be…Which module? Power or Programme? …..now that I cannot answer, sorry!

Spookily enough I think you will find that as long as you know the part number and then type that into the “Keywords” box these days, it will be recognised and come up with a picture, price and Parts Center catalogue number. A big improvement on just one month back when I last tried to find a common enough stock line that wasn’t there unless I knew the catalogue number, which I didn’t at the time!
I wonder when they will send out to account holders this much awaited PARTS CATALOGUE anyway :con:
And yes…the supply of spares to the public at their local depots is a worry for trade customers, for whom they don’t give a t*** anyway ❗
Finally, to correlate the trading policy of Wolseley UK Ltd and their selling to trade or public, it is simply that to them, there is no difference at all except the trading discount for account holders. Which is fair enough for spare parts BUT when they can sell FINISHED GOODS to the public (i.e Dyson Vacs) over the counter at their depots, then there may be trouble ahead?

It is the ‘Reversing Timer’ and cuts supply to the heater for a few seconds whilst reversing. They often fail (Part No 1701133) available by emailing the details to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk

Funny you should mention “ions” and stuff, but going off the thread just a tad I know but cop this recent press release:

Airwash, is a waterless washing unit that utilizes negative ions, compressed air and deodorants to clean clothes. Its form is inspired by the waterfall, nature’s negative ion generator. Airwash eliminates the need for detergent and water. By using atmospheric air and negative ions–a natural cleansing agent–it fights dirt and bacteria with nature’s own weapon. It is designed to be placed anywhere in the home, not only in the laundry area. The simple user interface “floats” to wherever on the appliance the user wants

ParticipantRe: Baumatic Dishwasher Problems
Baumatic eh 🙄
A good customer of mine actually decided (as she was getting a new kitchen fitted next summer) not to have her Neff dishwasher repaired as she felt it had run its term (15 yrs) and decided to replace it with a Baumatic BDW2W 😕 She asked me to disconnect her old machine and install the new Baumatic in it’s place 🙁
I dutyfully did as requested and just couldn’t help but wonder at the build quality of the new Baumatic :rotfl:
The adjustable rear feet that wouldn’t adjust? the door adjustable tension wires? The Programme Knob that fell off each time you opened the door? The piece of sticky tape they supplied to stick on the underside of the worktop? The front adjusting feet that move less than 1/2 inch?…I could go on 😕
When I politely asked my customer “Why the hell did you buy this rubbish?” she simply replied “….because it was the cheapest we could find and we will be dumping it in the skip next summer anyway!”
But I expect a BDW10 is a different beast anyway? :rotl:

ParticipantRe: Hoover PE235 Module
No known problems that I recall although you will need to inspect carefully each numbered triac on the module board to establish if they have failed. Each one relates to a specific component (i.e TR1 = Motor. TR2= Hot Valve. TR3= Cold Valve. TR4=Door Interlock. TR5=Drain Pump. TR6=Wash Pump. TR7=Stepper/Selector Motor.)
Hope that helps ❓
