The NTC readings are in K/ohms so it sounds like you didn’t set your multimeter on the correct scale. 😉
NTC’s on these are very reliable. I will stick with my first hunch for now. 😀

ParticipantRe: Condenser dryer& drainage question
Reconnect the drain pipe to the coupling on the back of the dryer. That then diverts the water directly into the water container.

No that’s it.

The stat is N/O Andy and closes once the temperature has been reached.
I was led to believe by the OP that is was heating. Now I’m not so sure that is the case and perhaps the element is at fault?

Yes they can. Drum out and taken apart. A fun exercise first time around for the uninitiated. Enjoy the challenge:wink:

That thermostat is now obsolete but an alternative can be obtained (part no: 022480). Without it, as Andy says, would be not an option.

Your opinion on anything is at best doubtful and usually ignored. Your contribution to this thread as valued as a fart in a spacesuit.

Then it must be a fault with the control unit I would think. Most odd fault and not one I have encountered until now. 🙁

That doesn’t make sense in all honesty. It completes and washes OK means it works OK. So how do you know it does’nt heat during the wash cycle? Is it taking any longer to complete the cycle?

The repair trades lowly voice lost, or ignored more like, long ago. Which? all the while continue to survey ‘Best Buys’ rather than best brands. And this last decade or more our most hated brand (Indesit) has been up there in the top 3. Volume wins over enduring quality. Pile ’em high, flog ’em cheap is Currys secret. Comet could’nt keep pace. AO, Tesco, Boots and others have since grasped a huge slice of the market as the Internet continues its relentless pace into all our lives.
Meanwhile Miele have done it right all the while and now stand as the ONLY quality brand on the market. Their slogan “Immer Besser” couldn’t be more apt.
If I had a small retail outlet flogging washers I would always have Miele in the centre of the shop surrounded by the c r a p ‘popular’ brands. And do as spimps does and let the customer do the choosing.

Such is the nature of breaks in the grey plastic ribbon section of that wiring harness.

ParticipantRe: Bosch SMS4472GB sticking in the wash cycle
You can at least check both ends as they are conveniently colour coded:D

ParticipantRe: Bosch SMS4472GB sticking in the wash cycle
The timer restarts only when the thermostat makes the connection. Thermostats on these are pretty reliable so it could be a connection failure between the two (wiring harness maybe?) 😀
