ParticipantYes, I have checked the resistance of the NCT, so that is the temperature side checked. I think the bottom light is not used in the codes which will make it an F1 fault which is the motor constantly running. The motor still runs when the lights flash which points to F1. The board is beyond what the machines worth so it looks like a sad end to a nice machine. Thank you for the help though..

ParticipantThanks Dave. I presume these codes are the same as the older models.

ParticipantRe: WMA44 manual.
Hopefully not much. The owner did not want to spend any money on it even though it only had a blocked pump. I have removed an object from the pump but on test the machine does not seem to get up to its full 1200 spin. I have continuity checked the motor from the module plug and replaced the module with a second hand one. My guess is that both modules may be set to 1000rpm. The bearings are as sweet as sweet and no rust on the case so its worth while saving.

ParticipantRe: Washing machine rentals.
You are correct, there are a lot of problems to it but there is a good living to be made. It is more profitable to rent a recon than sell it.
If you had a choice of a second hand machine from an advert and one of my rentals, then mine would be safer. I doubt whether the second hand machine would be safety tested as mine are each year. No matter how good we are,any machine we repair, rental or not has the possibility of taking a childs arm off. It is up to us all to minimise the possibility.
Getting back to the timer. Looks like this may be a non starter due to legal reasons.megawatt
ParticipantRe: Washing machine rentals.
Dave.I think that may be a key fob remote switching, which will need 12vdc in the machine. I would be very interested in what it was.
Larry. Profit is ok. £10 for recon hp, £15 for new amica with 2yr warranty and you get paid to fix them. I had a solicitor draw one up.
Dr Dill Yep,got it.
Jackal. Not the best of news, I did not know that.megawatt
ParticipantRe: Washing machine rentals.
Thanks for replys. I have been doing rentals for about 5 yrs now and have got about 280 machines out. I wanted to air the problem of customers who take machines in,don’t pay the rent and don’t want to give the machine up. We have all been there and probably like me you will have developed various ways of dealing with the problem. However solving it takes lots of time with people not answering letters, the phone or the door etc etc.
I am considering having a 3 month, latched relay, battery powered timer designed. If connected to the fill valves, the washine machine would break down 3 months after delivery. If the standing order was not set up and you had problems collecting the rent then the machine would be removed to the workshop for repair never to be seen again. If the customer was paying ok, then the timer would be removed.
The more units made would bring the cost down. What do you guys think??Mike.
