ParticipantRe: Checking-Up?
Had the same thing. The phone call was from an insurance company. Looks like they are looking for non-existent jobs being claimed for.

Thanks for your advice Dave. Due to lack of time I have referred the customer to a zanussi engineer.

ParticipantRe: White knight small dryer CL372.
Looks like their was no need to take the fan off. I got the drum out and did the job with it on. The other option is to unscrew the motor and take it out with the back.
Thanks,

ParticipantRe: AW23 soap hose problem.
I use a wood workers rasp to take off some of the tub rim giving extra room for the hose. A good hose clip will help protect the hose.

Thanks Bigchris. The back looks ok so I have ordered the parts. Fan is yet still on waiting my attention.

ParticipantRe: Stolen rental washing machine.
Thanks for the replies. This is the first time I have had to do this so I am off to a solicitor to find out how many hoops I need to go through before I can get the machine back.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WMA40 module part number.
Yes, I removed it from a 1000 spin machine. A single triac WMA board cannot go faster than 1000 rpm. If you look on the WM series timers you find the same thing with a single triac being 1000 spin. It may be that new boards are universal and only use the field triac when the loaded program calls for it.
Chris sent a manual which had all the info I needed to sort the problem. Give me your email and I will send it on.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WMA40 module part number.
Thanks for the reply Iadom. I think the second triac will select a tap on the field coil used on the last part of the spin over 1000 rpm. This is not needed on 1000 or less spin machines. Hence 6 pin motors for 1000 spin, pin 7 is the field centre tap switched by the seconded triac to get faster speeds (I think???).
I have never needed to configure a WMA board so I know nothing about it.

Sounds good. How do I reprogram ? I have got some 1000 spin boards with various AKO part numbers but I do not know what the original AKO number was.

ParticipantRe: HP wf440 Unknown bearing set.
I think that may be the same. I tried to get a picture on the post but have run out of time. Looks like another hotpoint bites the dust. Thanks for your replies.

Definitely not your normal 30mm spider or seal. I will try to post some pictures tomorrow.

ParticipantRe: ISE Vestel 1600.
Yes, that is correct. I think the customer has a condition where everything in her has to be just right, which includes the washing machine. About a week later she reported a different noise to the first. The machine is a rental so I swapped it out for a recon hotpoint. She complained that the hotpoint was worse so I had to get the ise back. On checking out the ise in the workshop I found the bearings just at the start of failure, normally I would have not done this for another six months but in this case it was best to do them before it went back out.
The machine has been out for a few weeks now with no noise from the customer. I don’t know if it was the bearings or the hotpoint that solved the problem.
