Re: Zanussi ZWC1300W – module or door interlock?

    Thanks for reply Allsorts

No diddn’t do a resistance test on wires – looks like it might be 20min job to dismantle units and get m/c out :rolls: so must admit i didnt want to do that only to do repair.

Can you explain further what the problem was – presuming you are saying there was an earth fault on the neutral – caused by what? – and why would it start to work and then stop ?

    Thanks

Re: Tricity Bendix AW 1002 W keeps pumping.

Had a fault like this on a Tricity Bendix like this which after a lot of head scratching turned out to be a water valve shorting.

If you inspect the valve you could see it had been overheating – never had one before or since but it is one of those jobs that stick in your memory because it was so unusual and wierd 🙂

Worth a try before you order up a timer like i did!

    Thanks for the reply Seamy

Wonder if you could just explain this a bit further for me – because what I think you are saying is a low voltage could be the cause. This might be possible because chatting to cust there are 2 power supplies – one land line and the other direct from the boat.

But i think this is happening on either but will just conferm with cust.

    Thanks

    Thanks Martin

Fitted tacho magnet of old 1100 today – left metal disc on as presume it strenghtens the magnetic field from magnet and worked fine.

    Thanks for the help

    Re: Hvr Sorftwave Tacho

Managed to get hold of an old magnet off a motor to an old pre logic 1100.

Looks physicaly the same apart from a metal disc that they used to fit to these tacho magnets – anyone know if they are interchangeable? – a magnet is a magnet isnt it? or are they different? (I know they can be on the old Hotpoint motors)

Original hasnt the metal disc fitted but I can leave that off but the tacho coils look different but I can leave the original coil on.

Does anyone know if this will fit or is it a suck it and try 🙂

    Thanks

Thanks for the reply Steve was about to give up 🙂

Yes it is – also could use the plastic washers as one got damaged when it all went mangled. But the mgnet is the most important bit.

    Re: Indesit FI31K.B.IX.GB – Oven T.O.C.

Been back today – fitted Oven TOC (C00089573) which was situated top R/H edge of grill element from the back (missed it the first vist – not an obvious place to put it and a bit hidden away) and uses part of the grill element plate to fix it in place – what a crap way of fixing and it looked like there has been some heat escaping from the TOC hole and fixing as well because of the crappy fixing :rolls:

Stat at the back on oven by oven fan (blue spot) is the cooling fan stat – cooling fan must have a double feed – one from the main oven selector which puts it on as soon as the oven is switched on – the other from this stat as soon as 75/65deg is reached and keeps the fan running after the oven is switched off till it all cools down.

Well – you live and learn folks but still dont know what NA stands for – quite possible Non Ajustable to contrast between Adjustable main oven stat?

Anyway prob solved so thanks for the help folks

    Re: Indesit FI31K.B.IX.GB – Oven T.O.C.

    Thanks for the replies guys

Have ordered the Oven TOC but the picture looked different to the one fitted which was one of the reasons for the consern but it maybe if the old ones were giving trouble they are fitting different make? – Cooker only just out of waranty.

I did wonder if N.A. was normaly active – a posh way of saying its normaly closed but I dont really lnow hence the question? – but if thats the cooling fan stat would expect it to be open till temp then close to bring in the fan – but as I said earier the cooling fan operates as soon as the oven is switched on?

If anyone can enlighten me further – much appreciated

    Thanks

Re: Hoover softwave – new brushes – burning smell

Hmmmm… Been to a Logic today brushes worn down so fitted the same brushes that were giving me grief yesterday but filed off the grooves before fitting them and bingo – no smell from that machine 🙂

Just makes me still wonder if it was the brushes in the end as must have been fitting groved brushes for ages and not had a prob before..

Ah well just another of life’s little mysteries….

Thanks for the replies tho folks

Re: Beko DRCS 68W – Condenser drier – early finishing

Thanks for the reply Steve – must admit didnt notice if there were sensing strips round the door – placing them there is a new one on me 😯 – that would seem to boode for alsorts of problems with small loads anyway not reaching the strip.

So presumably all the wiring for the sensing strip would go through or by the door hinge to get to the control module – hmmmm…..

wonder if I can get the customer to look for the strip and let me know to save a return visit at this time? – Is it faily obvious if you are looking for it?

    Thanks

    Thanks for the replys guys.

It looks like the one you suggested petalpop might fit so thanks

I didn’t know you could strip the new type valves any further than taking the solenoid off – thought they were all moulded after that – but will inspect further – knew the old vaves that were screwed together all came apart but they are in the long distant past and showing my age – but thanks for that info Iadom will take a look.

Many thanks for the replies folks much appreciated. 😀
