ParticipantRe: Siemens DW flow meter
Although having said that and looking at diagram, it looks like the older type that was metered using water level, floats and microswitch system. The tubes get blocked causing overflow to base and activating anti-flood. Hose from metering tank to sump prone to gathering greasy gunk over time.

There is an easier way, but wouldn’t be as satisfying or spun as dry!

Better than anything on T.V. tonight. Infinitely enjoyable viewing. Being of the “old school”, I am now slightly aroused by watching that!

I have a metal skewer with the tip (about 5mm) bent round on itself making a “u”. This is invaluable for removing stubborn heating elements from washers (the ones with NTC integral). Take out the NTC, insert “speial tool” through hole, engage short end of “u” against rubber grommet and pull. Also, same tool is good for getting plinth off below kithen units when working on built-in. Slip skewer in with “u” horizontal. Once in, rotate 90 degrees and pull.

Sounds like another “Let’s sell something completely pointless, but we’ll market it with a ton of bul…t and folks will think they NEED one”. Utter cobblers IMHO

All credit to them, but I wonder how many individual parts are British made? Pump, motor, suspension, heater, controls Et.c. Et.c.

Think of it as an investment – when shops start charging 5p a bag they’ll be millionaires!!

ParticipantRe: Taking in a 15 years old boy for work experience
I had summat similar, it was a broken tumble dryer that was shoved from the kitchen to outside in the service yard by the smoker’s shelter. I was guided to the machine after walking through so many ‘airlocks’ then was locked outside. I was told if I needed owt just press the doorbell and someone will attend to my call. It was a right faff, good job it was hot ‘n’ sunny outside.
The experience puts me off doing nursery, play centre repair job.
My daughter’s nursery didn’t have a smokers shelter, and I don’t think it’s good for the nursery to allow the toddlers to smoke!! -
