Thanks for taking the time to offer your opinion. Just have to sit tight and see what happens.

    Re: comet

As far as I know, we are on a normal contract, but like you said, “But if the person doesn’t know…”!! I have an opinion that since the service side has been re-badged as OnCall we are a separate company probably contracted to Comet group PLC so that if/when Comet is sold, whoever buys it will likely only want the retail part – the bit that brings the money in – and not the service department which costs the company money. If this is so it would then be easy to end said contract and OnCall is left to sink or swim.

Or am I just a bit cynical?

Thank you for that, doesn’t really say much, but picking the best bits out, it could be ok.

Beko Are Turkish. In my opinion they are very good value for money. Bargain basement. Simply made but not badly made and parts are cheap. No issues with not being able to programme boards without the right kit if it needs one and they don’t seem to give weird head-scratching faults. I would personally not give any current Indesit/Hotpoint appliance space in my house

Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

I love it when you knock the door and the dog(s) go mental. You can hear the customer taking forever to restrain and lock the snarling beasts away. Eventually the door is opened and the customer says “sorry, just putting the dogs out of the way. You don’t mind dogs, do you?” and then proceeds to let the bloody things out to annoy you – so why take so long to put them out of the way? GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

If memory serves, there is a pcb separate to the main control module which I think is a voltage inverter. Locate and check for dry joints.

Diaphragm on inlet valve, if it’s owt like the old tricity bendix/ zanu m/c’s Try (gently) twatting it with a screwdriver handle. More correctly, remove air pipe from diaphragm and establish why it’s activated in the first place (may not be a reason.)
