ParticipantHave seen this many times on 52L tanks where the dampers have been factory fitted towards to front weight, in the 62L position. As Dave said I refit them in the same position.

ParticipantI guess the motor and control boards are now one (like on the Indesits). Dont see many newer machines so not come across this board yet.
As Dave said the chances are the power supply circuit will be similar, so worth checking for open circuit feed resistors or shorted diodes. If you find anything a photo or two of the board might help. Dave is very good at spotting potential problems.

ParticipantStange, connect and aswo list a this as having 3 boards. Display, Main board(motor control) and a Control board (usually fits in a black case RHS inside the back)

ParticipantThe front PCB must be removed from the control panel to check if the knob is the problem (Unplug machine, lid off, conrol panel off, disconnect the data cable then remove PCB.

ParticipantPossibly a broken selector knob, slipping on the conterol shaft.

ParticipantAgreed, sounds like the pulley is forcing the belt onto the chassis. See the Hotpoint drawing at https://parts.hotpoint.co.uk/drawings/gif/07535-25.p.gif

ParticipantWhen a sensing lock is fitted to a non sensing model It will work without issue
The sensing switch is used on some models to let the software know if the door is open or closed (without trying to lock it).
Sensing locks are used on some wash dryers and washing machines to tell the customer the door is open without pulling up a door lock failure error.

ParticipantC00628818 Is a Bitron standard PTC lock used to replace the discontinued ITW ZV449 lock fitted to some machines on the door lock recall list.
C00307442 Is a Bitron PTC door lock with an extra door sensing switch in series with the PTC

ParticipantWhile available use C00258640 Black foam seal. The old Blue foam seal C00145648 was updated to the black one as part of the the fire modification.
Assume it’s been modded? If not then a new back panel kit or a new dryer is free.

ParticipantAs far as I am aware the surface of the rear felt seal should be coated with PTFE part no C00379852

ParticipantI find that safety thermostats mainly fail because of poor airflow, faulty input thermostat or less commonly a faulty timer/pcb.
Capacitors can just stop working but they usually deteriorate over time getting weaker until an observable fault results.
If the motor run capacitor is low value then the motor seems to start okay on an empty test but will struggle to get going under load resulting in a poor airflow from the circulating fan.
To test capacitors you need a multimeter with a capacitor test function. The last two Hoover/Candy dryers I serviced were both low, the 7MFD capacitors tested at 2.3MFD and 2.8MFD. One had blown the 206C thermal fuse and the other was still running but the rear of the drum was showing signs of overheating.
An Indesit today had blown the one shot because the terminals were poor and overheating. The capacitor checked at 7.8MFD which is not too bad for a 9MFD after a few years use.

ParticipantHave not seen this dryer but It’s always worth checking the value of the capacitor. If it is down by 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} or more I would change it.
