    Re: Bosch Dishwasher pumps

    Hi!
    Just to add…….
187970 is fitted to the SGS GV600 range, This is the one with the tin base that has acces from underneath to motor, pump heater box etc and plastic inside the machine
165261 is fitted to the SGS range with the plastic chassis and all stainless inside/acess to pump impellor from sump cover inside machine.
The impellors are very different and as far as i know are not interchangable, should imagine discharge rate would be affected as shape of impellor wouldn’t match housing?
Sorry to be a sad anorak 😳
But, hope its of some help 😉

    Re: BOSCH SGS09L12GB

Could be problem with pressure chamber/transfer hose too on this one as has metering tank on left hand side and does the usual 1min remaining thing and time altering as insufficiant water to operate diaphram on heater box 💡
Could be open circuit heater element too.
Never had to change a pcb on this one, is located in base at right side in front of heater terminals, nice reliable AKO one if my memory serves me correct??
I think i seen a link on here somewhere about the 1 min thing???
    Good luck! 🙂

Re: Bosch dishwasher SGS43C12GB/15 not heating

    Hi!
Haven’t seen dry joints on this module and anything is possible i guess.
This is the plastic base GV600 series machine and does NOT have the transfer hose/pressure system arrangement, instead it has a magnetic float system to control water level, located under a cover under the rectangular mesh filter inside the machine.
(This has been superseeded recently by a flowmeter arrangement)
This tends to crud up and collect iron fillings etc and refuses to float up as required. If it overfills the ‘Mushroom’ in the base activates the drain pump/safety system and shuts it down. If you take the float Magnet out to clean it, its orientation (which way up it goes) it critical as if its in the wrong way it will just overfill!
The new modules are coded slightly differently and for which purpose the safety system must also be changed (Mushroom arrangement)
Its is absolutely critical due to its design that the machine has rinse aid in it or it won’t dry end of story. 3 in 1 tabs are totally useless in it, so check this out too 💡
Also, any dishwasher that uses thermal drying process won’t dry plastic items due to the fact that plastic won’t retain heat, whereas a nice stonewear plate will dry perfect!
If the heater and switch is operating ok and you have checked the above then your left with little choice but a new control module.
Hope this is of some help! 😉

    Re: Bosch Washer WFL2462GB/12

It could be motor brushes……..But usually they will fill up first then you get lights flashing at you!, is the door locking?? I have found with the WFD series that occasionally the plug comes detatched from the interlock, whether this is true for the WFL too?
I have found motors fail and take out the control module and can make them do all sorts of weird things 😕
I had a spider across the tracks on one the other week that had blown a board 😯

    Re: Bosch SGS45E02GB/56 Instantaneous Heater

There is a reason why they fail but its not the fault of you or the machine/spares etc! 😉
Customers dont appreciate that they must clean the filters after each wash, otherwise sludge that gets pulled through builds up in one corner of the heater box, overheats it and causes it to fail!
Machines with instantainious water heaters wash in a lower quantity of water and the crap customers put in them seriously screws them up.
I always advise customers to scrape/rinse items before putting in the machine. 💡
I have seen them fail in less than 12months, if you want to prove a point, when you have the old heater out, break off the clips and open it up. Show this to the customer, it usually shuts them up!! 😆

I have some lovely pics of a Siltal TECKNIK that had to have a visit from the fire brigade the other week, if only i knew how to post them! 😕
I’d like to add that it wasn’t MY repair causing it to end up like it!! 😆

    Re: Servis M6516W

Oh dear, so thet’re not getting any better then are they? 😥
What I used to do is stick a piece of accoustic carpet to the cabinet where that horrid grey spiral fill tube from the valves ratles agaist it, also make sure that the motor bolts are really tight as the rubber bushes vibrate like a good un!
Top weight is another point of concern especially if stainless tub as spot welds break.
To be honest theres not alot more can be done and no point in throwing mega bucks at a cheap machine, I just accepted that the price reflected what they were and if customers pay S*1T they get S*1T! They were greatfull we’d turn up and try!! 😆
On the slower spin machines i also found that the clampband came loose on the backplate 💡
I know we all knock the merloni but lets be glad its not Domar!

    Re: Bosch to/from China

Yes they seem to of corrected it on the latest KGN range, but they do seem to be a bit on the loud side until the fan is changed.
As for the WAE going to UK rather than GB is a first for me, they did it a few years ago with the WFL series but no obvious changes, I was always sure that GB or UK just defined its intended market?? 😕
One way to find out I suppose is load up Quickfinder and compare the part numbers between models 💡
I seen a WVF doorseal in a Chinese bag the other day, either that or the engineer had been to the takeaway @ lunchtime :rotfl:

    Re: bosch dw door leak

Have came across this before loads of times, and to be fair most of the time it’s the lower doorseal strip rather than the one up sides and top, they all leak if you stop/start them in cycle even brand new ones but its aggravated more if their tipping forward even slightly.
Its a bit of a pig but this is how i do them.
Lid, sides & front off. Detatch the control panel and wiring from the dispenser so it can be moved to one side.
Release the tension ropes off the hinges by unhooking.
Take the retaing blocks off the hinge bearings and lift off the door.
Now you can take the hinges off the door to release the seal from it.
The new one is a better design and not so bulky, i’d say if its started to split change it, they go all squidgy with grease and crud and the machine has got to be nearly 6 years old. 🙂

    Re: neff oven

They won’t go totally dead, all it does is cuts power to the element and the stat light and oven fan etc stays on as if its trying to heat then looking like a dodgy oven stat until cabinet temp falls back to a safe level.
That high temp stat also gets covered in loadsa crap from the oven fan motor and can affect supply to the element.
Next time you get chance, take a look.
I only tend to fit Gen elements on these so can’t comment on the pattern stuff but otherwise always found qualtex SUPERB for elements etc. 🙂

    Re: Bosch to/from China

I think their of Polish origin. :rotfl:
The fans rattle like a pig and and everything in the salad drawers freeze!
But no fear, the affected ones have a solution availiable.
Apparently the fan motor in the freezer has to be changed for an alternative one and there is a seal strip to be fitted to the multiflow in the back of the fridge! I managed to swipe a job sheet left by an engineer at one of my customers homes the other day. 😯

    Re: neff oven

Just a quick one to add to this, if the cabinet cooling fan don’t kick in then then oven temp won’t rise over 100 as it regulates off the high temp stat mounted in the back by the main oven fan, this applies for most singles, doubles, and double built unders producued post ’96.
Hope this is of some help guys! 💡 🙂

    Re: Bosch to/from China

    Yes its TRUE!! 😯
The new WVF washer dryers are coming from China, trust me I KNOW these things, you guys won’t really see them yet on a repair basis as most are still under warranty, generally they seem pretty reliable and are similar to the spanish type (production has been moved from spain) with the common problems ironed out.
If you get one, some of the panels are stamped inside in chinese, and if your lucky enough to order parts the packets have the BSH label stuck over the chinese label.
As far as I know BSH have 33 factories worldwide, producing a multitude of stuff, you’d be supprised how much comes from Poland!
Its always controled by Germany, and if it dosen’t come up to scratch, they shut the factory.
Anyone seen a KGN fridge freezer yet?

    Re: Does anyone remember these?

Didn’t Burco make a drying ‘cupboard’? It was pre-tumble dryer, was like a box with an element in the bottom and you hung clothes in it.
    How sad am I? 😳
I can remember changing the butterfly type element in the bottom of these boilers though, with a single nut type fixing and a fibre washer that leaked most of the time 😡
At a guess i’d say they were around in the sixtys as my mum used to boil my step sisters terry nappys in one with napisan, and the eldest is in her mid 40’s now!
Take it down the WRVS and tell ’em its a tea urn!!!!!!!!! 😈
Talking of old machines, i’m still running a KEYMATIC.

I’ve seen this when the re-gen valve sticks, and they say “Thought it used lots of salt”
Just like the muppets that put detergent in the softners on the slimline SPS series.
