    Re: Programming WMA Boards

    Thanks Jim

Had to configure a board yesterday supplied by emw.

This was achieved by putting the board into programming mode and then refering to a chart to turn the dial through a sequence of letters and button presses to ‘program’ the board to suit the particular model (version 1 or 2) i was working on.

This got me wondering if all wma boards could be programmed in this way to suit a variety of models.

Itsa precaution to stop plastic tank melting (fill and drain) in the event of heater switching on with no water.

    Read that somewhere…

    HI
I have all the option lights & Start/Pause light flashing rapidly after a couple of minutes
It seems to start ok, although the fill is start stop a couple of times then goes into tumbling with water in, then stops & goes in to a drain with the lights flashing rapidly
Cant find fault code for this
    Any Ideas ?
    Cheers

she is obviously some kind of quark splitting university lecturer…?

Back to most valuable find for a minute

When I was fresh out of Hoovers training college in Doncaster (1982, anyone remember Mr. Richmond?)

one of my first jobs for Hoover was a call to a overdressed house in a nice neighbourhood,
on the drive is a pickup with wheels at about shoulder height and sure enough, as one would expect the original medalion man, shirt half open, hairy chest and necklace shows me into the kitchen
He was naturally loud and aggresive was Mr. Smith and worked on the rigs for a living, away for weeks at a time

I can still remember to this day the tirade of spitting swearing anger when out from the sump hose along with a nice watch came…

Re: Hotpoint WM63 – No Heat

Does the machine go through the cycle or is the complaint ” dial will not move, prog sticks”?

If it goes through the cycle without sticking it sounds like economy selected.

If it sticks on wash cycle then its back to fault finding

Re: The Green Mile…How Do You Avoid Death by Electrocution

These are some of the most cringworthy threads I have ever read, as I am paranoid about shocks, havnt been caught out now by the old
“want a cup of tea” tactic for years now, but reading some of these really makes me toes curl!

I asked because you know, in this day and age, their should be something,
I am just hoping that some guys new to the game read this and review there working methods before they have a story to tell, rather than after.

    Martin

That was, touch wood, the one and only time I thought my time was up. For milliseconds I just couldn’t let go and only by screaming out in agony was I able to free myself…..!

Ever since that time I carry a non contact mains sniffer/sensor

I got one of those volt sniffers on saturday, this one vibrates as well! šŸ˜€

Just to add the story of my only shock in the last 15 years ( had about a dozen good ones in my first 10 years in the game) I was pasting wallpaper as dusk descended and thought it would be ok to remove the light switch, push the wire back into the recess and paper over it, didnt count on the ability of wet pasted paper to conduct did I 😄 :angry4:

Have you checked the motor harness, ie metered all wires for continuity from plug to plug?
