Sounds more like a a drum support has snapped so i think your probably looking at a new Tub listed at bosch for £178.55 + Fitting

Anyone know the normal room temperature ohms reading on the ntc for this machine?
    I thought 4.6 k might be a bit low?

This machine is still playing up:
Timer jumps at around 30 mins down to 1 minute [on drying only]

    Condenser is now spotless
Water flowing through on drying cycle
    Pump working normally

NTC on condenser reading 4.6k ( had been used for drying 20 mins earlier)
    Dryer Heater Insulation 220M ohms

Suspect Dryer element now but difficult access and customer satisfaction i’d like to be sure….

    No went right through everything,
Motor was good, heater a bit on the low side.

Customer scrapped it after that but i was doing some research for next time..
would i need a pre programmed board and do you know of a good source?

If its been in storage then one unusual fault i would look for is damage from rodent abuse

Check for signs of insulation stripped from wires and the obvious signs of mouse visits :poo:

    Thanks Dave

The one thing i don’t understand is why the dryer will run for some time initially, 5 to 10 minutes before it becomes unusable.

I presumed it was a overheating or incorrect heat measurement issue.

if your confident about soldering find the chip and replace. they are not expensive

    Dave

The dark art of soldering, looks easy, should be easy but my soldering is a bit hit and miss if im honest! :snig:

    Yes that’s right.

It appears to be dead (no lights)

Turn dial from setting to off and then back to a setting a light comes back on.

Re: Smeg Dryer Just Hums : Dry72BK

Thanks for looking Dave but can confirm no cap attached to the motor

just a 2 wire plug running down from behind the front volute assembly up to the pcb
