Had same problem with a Bush washing machine this week.

can only be pcb i would think

EMW should sort you out with a refurbished board or slightly slower you can send your board in for test and repair.

Re: Whirlpool AWM6145/3 Door open light flashing

If you have checked Brushes ok, door locked, check motor harness, pull on wires at motor plug etc. then i would suspect pcb, had it a couple of times unfortunatly

don’t know if there is anything here http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=51155 that might help?

God how I hate cigarette smoke. But how the hell can you ask your customer to stub out her fag without causing offence is what I’d love to know?

How about carrying an old asthma inhaler in your van, when they whip out the ciggys, you whip out your inhaler and start wheezin! 😉

Re: A Service Engineers Business Dashboard

This would be more like a instant visual check of the state of the business

A snapshot showing the important numbers (similair to a car speedometer)

For instance if you had 5 people waiting for spares maybe that would be in the green section of the gauge, 5 to 8 might be amber, 8 or more in the red warning section etc

A quick search on youtube brought this one up, a bit over the top but it gives an idea

    Re: Busy or what??

I have a huge number of households around me, probably 50,000 within easy reach, thats houses not people, so yes I have a huge advantage to engineers in rural areas, and to be truthful would probably be banging me head against the wall now as well if I lived in a less densly populated area.

If you do a website read up a little bit on whats called seo especially local seo for your website.

In Mikes case, his ideal website would reflect what local people would be tapping into google ie. washing machine repair penzance

Its not difficult over a couple of weeks/months to get to the top of google for this kind of local search result, and thats when the enquires will begin to roll in.

    Good luck
Let me know if I can help with any aspects of web and local seo

    Re: Busy or what??

don’t know if there’s any correlation but i notice those who are quite don’t have a website listed.

I get average 2 good quality jobs (per day) from websites as very often customers who find us from them are professionals, no messing about with penny pinching etc. just want the job doing asap.

Have also been contacted and now used regularly by dozens of landlords and letting agents from around the country with properties in my area through web site.

Sorry I know not strictly on topic but I just thinking, cause and effect etc.

Re: how far do you go

    The customer is always right!

    Not!

You sound like a genuine honest person,
the easy way out is to refund her
the gut instinct is to ignore her or tell her where to go
but the best thing to do, in my opinion, is to go to the job yourself and see whats going on

    maybe she is
underloading it – out of balance
belt is slack – affects spin on some whirlpools
    loose wire on motor plug?
    taking the {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}&$*

A second pair of eyes will often spot something the first pair missed

But at the end of the day ODOM is right, customers will some times try to bully you, the best approach is that of a school teacher, polite but firm, you done your best, and you have incurred costs, and those costs have to be met!

Re: Module Repair on Hoover Nextra style machines- No Pump

Sent it off to EMW this morning as no physical signs of damage.

Previous engineer had fitted a new pump and left it on (no charge) even though a quick test revealed only 75v supply to pump.

He been getting back to her since before christmas with a replacement module…

His new year resolution was obviously to stop procrastinating (when he can get around to it)
