    Re: D&G PORTAL SYSTEM

We’re using it and my thoughts are that the tier system of repairers will not come into play anymore as the operators in the call centre will just look for the quickest appointment to keep the customer happy and as such work will drop off and go to second / third tier repairer as they will have free slots say for same / next day once yours are full.
I’ve been told this is not the case but we do get chased for repairs in our post codes which we haven’t been to and “nobody knows how this has happened” so we’ll see. But if anything work has increased a little so maybe I’m just paranoid!

It is just a push on seal on this one. Nice easy job which makes a change.

We wouldn’t fit the part unless maybe for a long standing customer.

Used to years ago but too many times the part last two minutes and cust. thinks it has gone because of something you missed not because the part is dodgy. S**t storm is the phrase exactly.

    Re: Daewoo frsu20iai leaking

Just defrost it first and make sure the drain hole is clear. Cuold have become blocked and caused ice to build up when the melt water freezes again. If the FF is leaking then chances are the defrost heater is working. (Defrost water can’t drain away and leaks out of freezer). If defrost heater was faulty there would be no leak just loads of ice.

Re: Samsung RS21 DPSM temperature not changing

With a digital thermometer you may get false readings because of the defrost heater operation making the temperature fluctuate (the air in the freezer may go to -11c during this time as the fan circulates).

Put a glass of cooking oil in the middle of the freezer and one in the middle of the fridge. After 24 hours measure the temperature you have. This will give you an accurate core temperature. If the core temperature is near enough what it displays (it is not exact) then you are ok.

I am not saying there is no fault but I have known people to chase faults that aren’t there because of this. Your Fridge freezer may just be operating differently as it tries to cope with the weather of late (e.g. the centre section between the door and the condenser being extra hot as the hotter it is outside the hotter that will be to dissipate the heat to cool the appliance).

If you could do the above just to be sure of temps. that would help diagnose further. I would be hard pushed to remember the last PCB issue I had and the self test on the front is usually pretty comprehensive.

The ambient temperature sensor under the top door hinge cover could be faulty if the condenser fan is not running correctly.

I have had the same issue on occasion and ended up replacing the inner door panel with the seal already factory fitted. It was either that or suicide!

Fridge sensor foamed in to the back of the fridge part no. 4394720185 about £10

Cheap enough. Some say DIY job. Some say not just depends how confident I suppose. Probably about £50/£60 all done if you got someone in.

Re: Washing machine not completing cycle of programme

You may have a heater fault. Try a rinse and spin cycle and if this goes through ok then it is even more likely.

Or if it washes and stops then rinses and stops then manual spin you may have a partial blockage and the washer is timing out as it can’t drain in good time.

Constant quick washes are not good. A sure way to a stinky gunk ridden washer.

Washing up liquid and patience. There are a couple of screws on the face of the cabinet which give you a bit more space on the gap.

The door may not close fully once fitted but it will sit flush in time so don’t worry.
