ParticipantThey all look fine Dave, I guess BSH is my only option for a new board?

ParticipantI did take it out for a good look, no signs of anything blown but that’s not unusual, it’s defo the fridge lamp relay clicking, gets very warm too. I guess at that age I should be more concerned if the board is still available, it’s my own unit and semi fitted in so would much prefer to fix it

ParticipantRe: Creda Fridge Explosion!
Being that the unit has not even been uplifted, it probably hasn’t had decent investigation…
Be interesting to find what questions you would ask…..
Has the unit still have a gas charge?
Is that a yellow/brown discolouration on the right hand liner split?, very hot condensor..?
It has a concealed fridge evaporator, seem’s no damage there?
A leak maybe down by the compressor causing gas to enter fridge drain hole?…does this unit have a mechanical stat or board?
What exactly was inside the fridge at the time? the freezer section looks fine, with the door intact.
Did she get here hands on a jar of my mum’s Onions?
Taking bets!

Down in ‘Affluent Kent’ dead as a Dodo
I always thought working on premium brands I.e Maytag would keep the wolves from the door.
Not the case, I also would have thought if customers are not going for a repair they must be replacing, but that doesn’t seem to be the case either?
Who know’s whats going on, I certainly don’t..

ParticipantRe: Refrigeration ‘interim personnel certificate’
This might clarify for some.
Current and Interim Requirements, RAC, HFC Refrigerants, less than 3kg
The current qualification requirements are to hold either a City and Guilds 2078 or CITB 206710
qualification or:-
a) to hold an in-house qualification (see Section 8 for more details) or
b) before the 15th February 2008, to have carried out such work on equipment containing less than
3kg of HFC refrigerant without supervision.
European Commission Regulation 303/2008 permits the UK to introduce a system for personnel that
do not hold a certificate that meets the future minimum qualifications to continue working if they hold
an “interim certificate”. Interim certificates would be valid up to 3rd July 2011. The Government will be
consulting later this summer on proposed regulations that are likely to have the following effect:
Personnel holding an in house qualification would be deemed holders of an interim certificate.
Personnel holding the City & Guilds 2078 or CITB 206710 would be deemed holders of an
interim certificate.
Personnel relying on Option (b), previous experience, will need to apply for and obtain an
interim certificate before 4th July 2009. At the time of writing (May 2008) the body that can
issue such interim certificates had not yet been identified, although Defra and BERR are
having discussions with DASA (Domestic Appliance Service Association). No final decisions
will be taken until a public consultation later this summer on arrangements for issuing interim
certificates and the necessary regulations has taken place.
Future Requirements from July 2011, RAC, HFC Refrigerants, less than 3kg
As described in Section 4 above, the current qualifications will not meet the long term minimum
requirements specified in European Commission Regulation 303/2008. It is expected that new GB
qualifications that meet the minimum requirements will be introduced during Summer 2008.
The future requirement for personnel carrying out refrigerant handling activities on RAC systems
containing less than 3 kg of refrigerant will be to hold either a Category I or a Category II certificate
awarded for one of these new qualifications. See Section 3 above for a description of the 4 categories
of new qualification.
All personnel must obtain this new qualification by 4th July 2011.May 27, 2009 at 10:19 am in reply to: ADMIRAL USA MODEL AC2224GEKB – LIGHTS ON NOBODY AT HOME!!!! #281562oldlonely
