    Re: Bendix LT

Ho, Ho, Ho. Those were the days when boys were boys and men were men. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

To move a Bendix LT was easy ๐Ÿ˜€ , pull down the flap at the front, remove the lifting device from its location and slot it over a leaver and push down to lower the wheels front and back on one side and do exactly the same with the other. As you are removing the machine keep an eye on the drain hose. In those day’s the drain hose was along the floor and drained direct outside to a small covered drain. The machine used a solenoid to open up a hole from the tub to pump hose to pump where the impellor on the motor swept the water away. Any then you jently pulled out the machine. Easy peasy ๐Ÿ˜• ๐Ÿ˜• .

Note: these machines had cast iron weights on just to ensure no bounce on spin, just like the ones of today ๐Ÿ˜• ๐Ÿ˜• .

The washer dryers early ones with bowden cables and pullies were fun to work on (not) . Also do not forget the Bendix bolt down machines, had to remove the nuts on centre left and centre right, then tilt machine forward and drag out. To replace these was fun, and many a flooring was damaged. Have never worked out why though.!!

    Real quick jobs those.

Re: Look at what your missing

Hi all again, phew its been all go again. I just cannot seem to restrain the ol customers they come back for more.

To be honest I have been absolutely busy since last Sept/Oct time until last week when the buggers gave me a bit of a rest but now they are screaming for me to work all over the hols. Also as I have said the computer got all bugged up, so that became interesting with all but word and Internet frozen up.

I purchased a laptop in the end but that was just to tide me over a few dayโ€™s while the main one got re-rigged.

I now have AVG anti virus instead of Mcafee stuff that did little to no use to a snake in the grass who has turned vegetarian.

I am looking forward to the DASA meeting in Glasgow; I have to put that in lads. It would be nice to see some of you there. The missus wont be coming, a shame that, she can be good fun, well so I am told.

How did your meeting go, I bet it was an excellent affair especially without the miserable OT around, but as I have said I have been very busy and so will the tax man and the dreaded VAT..

Flippin whatsit the **** phone is going again sorry lads have to go.

Re: Look at what your missing

I thought I had given all the NN post codes. I may have been wrong. Could this be rectified please.

    OT aka Dave Pannell

Note; I have been off line for sometime due to a malfunctioning whiz computer thingy. It had been covered with over 3,000 bugs that my mcafee bug killer did not pick up at all. NICE.

Back to the subject, if you would be kind enough to update my post codes to all the NN’s I would be gratefull.

    Thanx

Any offence caused by me to Kevin then I sincerely apologise.

It appears I have touched a raw nerve here and have unwittingly publicly slated him.

I have total faith in DASA and its aims, this is so ingrained in me that any rumour or degrading of the Association is taken to heart, as also any degrading of this site I would also take to heart.

You see, DASA is in the process of building itself much like UKWG. It is and all ways will be an ongoing process. Since DASA and CH parted it has put DASA back a bit, and we are trying to pick up all the loose ends CH had left. DASA has accomplished this and is moving on, slowly but meticulously, for it has far reaching responsibilities.

I am proud of the Association and what it is trying to do and any offence caused by me then I sincerely apologise.

Ken you are absolutely correct by being in a rock and hard place, may I apologise to you for putting you in this untenable position.

    Re: rumours

Kevin you are scare mongering again, I now see this is your speciality, you may hear a snippet and then fan a small spark and hope it materialises, and when you get a response you do not like, you respond as you have.

If you really want to know whatโ€™s what at DASA Kevin, and any one else who wants to know, come over to the DASA web site and read the truth, in fact why not join DASA and help improve on our achievements. DASA is moving on, and without Kevin.

As Kevin is all to aware we at DASA have had a very hard job (not even paid) to tie up the loose ends left after CH left. The Chairman and others have worked very hard as Kevin knows. We even had a meeting (I could not attend due to other commitments) at Kevinโ€™s place when it was PKI. So Kevin is all to aware of the situation, so instead of encouraging from the side lines (it was Kevins choice to remove himself from DASA for business reasons), Kevin now chooses to play mischief instead. Kevin will shrug this off and will make more mischief, should this happen, to my mind Kevin will show himself up even more. For the most sensible of the UKWG members who read this, and then read any of Kevinโ€™s retorts after, would be aware of this situation.

Kevin is very clever at twisting the knife and causing mayhem when there is non, he then he stands back and sayโ€™s, โ€œwho meโ€, and I say yes Kevin you, I am left wondering why he does this? And what is his motive! It is not that of one who is pointing out the shortcomings, and then proceeds to supply some of the answers.

If I have upset Kevin then this due to his posting, and upsetting the DASA committee, not only on this occasion but on others as well. There is no fire, there is nothing but gossip from Kevin and from a so called source that is unaware of the up-to-date situation, or for one reason or another has taken anything said or don out of context.

Kevin has now had his response, he has shaken the tree, and he will shake it again in the future, but as I have said before DASA is moving on, and without Kevin.

I conclude by saying to all of you who want to get on and improve in this most difficult business of ours, be part of the future, be recognised by Manufacturers as one of the best of your trade, be part of the solution not part of the problem, join the only Association there is for you Business, DASA is moving forward, so move forward with it.
