ParticipantI find it easier to wear clothes, otherwise it gets the inmates worried, and me as well.
I wear knee pads on my knees, forget Dickies and the rest, I wear Orange ones, £15 per shot, absolutely brilliant, if any one wants a pair I have about 40 pairs left, ideal for our kind of work plus gardening.

ParticipantFagor driron, seen one in Northampton B&Q, damaged, had a hanging handle, a bit, dented, and reduced to £995. I looked at it, had a nose inside it, originally thought it was a fridge/freezer, but no. a flipping large bugger tho. I prefer the iron, the board and my misses doing the work while I watch with a can of the amber nectar, refreshing.

ParticipantRe: Will you please leave me alone!!!!!!!!!!
I have had a few of these lately including a flipping dog. The one with the dog she says oh he is friendly and wont get in your way, so the dog kept nudging as they do, I asked her to remove the dog and she became agitated with me. I asked if she could take the dog to work and the reply was of course not, I asked if her other half could take the dog to work and had the same reply. I then explained this is my area of work and according to HSE no dogs are allowed in any place of work, she quickly put the dog outside. I use the same tactic on nosy customers, and say are you aware to HSE standards you are not allowed in the vicinity of my place of work, also that I supposed to do a RISK ASSESSMENT and let you know what to do in the event of anything happening to me, also if anything happens to you that you are not insured and my policy does not cover you. Also I have legal right to put up a barrier similar to those the road guys use, to prevent customer from coming too close to prevent injury.
This shuts them up, and if not then I ask about there work and would they want someone like me peering over there shoulders etc.
WORKS EVERY TIME.

nomadPaul, what is the stability like on the screw item here. I would have thought a centre screw would wobble like crazy, or have I the wrong end of the idea here. Do you have a photo of a machine (tumble dryer or oven) on the item.

For the past year or two now, I have been using a motor cycle jack, I made up a wooden top to fit on it. I pump up the jack to the correct level, remove the oven, repair, replace, job done. Even when the oven needs to be lowered to enable easier accessibility, brilliant, just lower it, then pump back up to the correct hight. The jack can be carried from fan to house easily, I have put on the feet dense fabric to allow easy maneuvering. Easy, simple, professional, no heavy humping and doing the back in. Customers are well impressed.
Less than £90 the whole thing, it does not take up a whole lot of room in the van either.

Surely if it was ether of those above the advancement of the timer would have no affect, I mean, it would not kick back in after three to four clicks on.
If any one has the timer sequence chart for this please check it out at those click settings, you will see what I mean where in the program it stops.
However, if the above is it, then when the customer comes back off holiday in two weeks I shall check these out.
Thanks for your kind replies and keep them coming, remember, please look at the timer sequence chart if you have one.

If this was the problem I would have thought any advancement would not had the effect it has, IE advance on by 3/4 clicks and away she goes, the only change is the timer advancement not anything on the air-break, however I may be wrong, but it seems logical in my eyes.

ParticipantYes comes in white cover, make sure you place all the wires in the correct terminals (silly to suggest I know but best to be sure). When fitted set to glass program, when full the machine goes into wash about a minute later the sop disp opens (providing you closed it before testing), about five minutes after that open door and make sure the flap has opened and the water feels warm, then write out your invoice and get paid, lovely jubly.

ParticipantI have found delivery time 7-10 days, no real problem from Servevast. I think they give discount to non SMEG agents.
PRESSURE SWITCH part number is 816210325I do not have any PCB boards repaired, I have new ones, that way any failure within a year it gets replaced FOC, I make sure they give a years GT on parts whom ever I purchase from.

Participantfasetester, I now pass over to Chris, he is the whiz on parts and prices.

Participantfasetester, Replace the PCB, it is the only way. Even P45 has said the pcb. Advise your customer of the potential cost, if they say yes then you are in profit with a happy customer.

Participantfasetester, you have asked a lot of questions here, I will try my best to answer.
The solenoid is fed directly from the PCB, the PCB may not show signs of damage, normally it does not, if a component is failing or has failed you most probably would not be able to tell, unless you know how to read one of those tester thingies that puts the signal on the screen, this is then really high tech end stuff. There are those who enjoy bringing out all their gadgets and gizmoes for that sort of thing. The answer is, the PCB should be replaced.
Next, the pressure switch, water can easily enter to pressure chamber and create problems. If you are so inclined, then remove the pressure switch and strip down, you would soon see if any water has entered the chamber, also check the contacts for burn marks where they make contact. I don’t bother with all that fuss, I replace, that way I know it will function as it should.
As far as I am aware at this present time, the solenoid on the soap dispenser cannot be replaced without damage to the support unit for the solenoid, thus, the whole unit is to be replaced. However, I have never had cause to replace the soap dispenser in this model.I have said earlier this model has known issues with the PCB and pressure switch. If the solenoid does not open on the any wash, this is not going to be a cheap repair for your customer.
It is one of those jobs if you have not come across it before you feel damned if you do and damned if you don’t, I have felt like that many times when I have received advice. The best thing you can do is advise your customer of the potential cost even if you are not successful, if they say OK regardless, then have that in righting from them so they cannot back track.Dave

fasetester, normally this problem is timer (pcb) and pressure stat. This model is prone unfortunately to that problem. The pressure switch is in the sump above and to the right of the drain pump. Make sure the machine is unplugged before you replace both items. If you are at all unsure about the soap dispenser, remove both wires and fit a fill valve to both wires and see if that operates. but first remove the outer door, fit the wires, set to glass wash, and when the machine is working, see if the valve is making a buzzing noise, if so change the soap disp, if not then timer and P switch.
Remember the glass wash setting is the best for doing short tests, it brings in the soap dispenser soon after filling, then the heater, 20minutes on, it goes into drain, an easy and quick test on all SMEGS.
In case you want to know, I am a SMEG agent.
Dave
Oh yes P45 is good a SMEG’s as well, and he is a good bloke, even if he is a penguin look a like (sorry Chris).

Hi,
Set the prog to the glass setting (make sure you close the dispenser flap first), when on the glass setting the machine should fill and motor function, the dispenser flap opens with a clunk, about five minutes later open the door and you should feel some heat from inside. This is normal and it tells you the timer, pressure switch, dispenser and heater are functioning.
However, if the dispenser does not open and the machine goes into drain quickly, open the door and check the water level, if it is touching the lower spray arm the timer and P switch need replacing, also if the machine starts to work OK and you do not hear the soap flap open again open door and, if the water level is as described above the timer and P switch need to be replaced.
