If the motor continues to idle over during the spin sequence you are looking at a module problem. If it tries to pick up speed, then falls back, the motor will be at fault. If the motor actually stops running during the spin sequence the fault lies in the timer or the water level control system. The level switch should give two (6 tag switch)or three (9 tag) distinct clicks when gently pressurised, same when pressure released.

Bear in mind that there are two different level switches and three different digital modules fitted to this machine depending on the serial number. If you wish to keep this one going, it’s time to get pro help. Without proper test equipment you risk throwing money at it and getting it wrong.

The plus side is that this is one of the better Indesits of recent years, getting a comparable replacement for similar money will prove to be difficult.

Cold valve solenoid failure – it’s not supplying cold water for the condensing process. P/no is 168945 – email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for ordering if you plan to do this yourself. or check the link below for a UKW engineer in your area.

    Power off of investigating further.

Not Dave the Bass who used to play for Straight Jake some years back perchance?

Dishwasher motors kick in with a bang – 0-2800 rpm in a split second, so the thread inside can strip eventually. Not too big a problem to solve as the impellor and housing are available as a separate item – p/no 690070529, about £25 plus the VAT from memory.

An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for confirmed prices and ordering will get things moving for you.

    But yes, a bit disappointing.

Re: £20 To Answer The Mobile!

I should point out that it is already the law that if you are to answer a mobile phone, the vehicle must be stationary with the engine stopped – ie parked. This councils actions are really rather irrelevant with regard to the law as it currently stands.

    But, yes, petty.

Re: Hotpoint WMA62 Not taking in fabric softner

A brief explanation of what is supposed to happen:

The cold water valve has two outlets, to direct the water into the different compartments of the drawer. By putting both solenoids on together, the water deflects into the conditioner compartment and fills it. it should then syphon through the cap.

Possibilities for failure are that one of the solenoids has failed – this will not be detected by the electronics, as the machine still fills within the time allowed – but not via the dispenser compartment. The more common failure is that the roof ducts in the top of the dispenser are choked and will need scrubbing/pricking clear.

    Re: Bosch S6R25B dishwasher

Further to Simon’s comments, a modern dishwasher is not designed to be connected to the hot water supply at all – indeed it will help the works get gummed up! Given that this appliance fills in part against time, there is a distinct possibility that insufficient water is entering the machine to allow the heater circuit to operate correctly.

Unless you are a Bosch engineer, the odds on tracking down a circuit diagram or anything other than a spares listing are exactly nil. Sorry about that…….

Re: Zanussi DE4744 – No hot water or drying

Interesting comments. A heater will work or not – no half measures. The relay on the board will almost certainly go “hit-or-miss” for a short time at least. The relay will be available from one of the electronics specialists (Radio Spares for instance) if you have the time, patience and skills to identify and change it.

    Otherwise:

1115321-10/9 – heater – about £30 plus the vat, or
    1525782-23/9 – pcb – about £85, plus vat.

We can’t give you a blow by blow account of how to repair your machine, however I can tell you that the heater is a tubular one, in line with the circulation pump and it’s a far more common failure than the computer board……….

Power off if you’re going to wield the test meter. Or you could click the link below for some pro help.

    Re: Indesit ide1000

Almost certainly a faulty board – but which one? From memory there are 3 in this machine. Given that you have a 5 year warranty on the parts, it may well be best to pay Hotpoint’s call out charge………

Re: Hotpoint DWT10 won’t fill fully – any ideas?

The codes displayed by these machines are notoriously inaccurate – they do at least tell you there’s a problem!

Check the heater – big weak spot on these machines.

    Power off of course.
