Ah – if you keep reading back there’s about 10 different threads all leading to wires being joined up! Doubt we’d get them all…….. Time for a carefully worder article perhaps?

It sounds like a thermostat problem – the power cut will not affect gas controls. You must get this dealt with by a CORGI registered engineer, so get on the phone first thing in the morning to have any chance of having this sorted for Christmas. I really wouldn’t worry about the handles for now, they can be ordered through spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk at your convenience – delivery now unlikely before Christmas.

The link below may well provide a UKW CORGI engineer, if you choose to follow it.

OK, Esren – I’m sorry, but I don’t believe you. On this appliance, the wiring is in the form of a cable with a plug on the end, which can only be fitted one way. If this is missing (wonder why?), it can be obtained as a spare part.

We’ve gone far enough with this, the thread is now locked. Please do not start another thread on the subject, as Admin will remove your access.

The suppressor is the next step after the terminal block – it should be a cylinder under the centre cross bar with a plug in the end.

Have a little read of this:
    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … age&pid=37
    for some general guidance.

In addition, check the obvious – rotors clear, filters not choked. It is advisable to still use salt in the machine, regardless of water softness. A certain amount will still be used by the softener circuits.

Perhaps you could advise what cleaning agent you are using? Long experience suggests that sticking with powder and rinse aid as separates produces the best results.

First one will almost certainly be the door interlock. This:
    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ucts_id=84
    is what you want.

The second one will almost certainly be a problem with the suppressor or mains cable, as these are the two components before the on/off switch. You will need to be able to use a test meter safely and correctly to diagnose.

Check the link below if you need pro help, power off if investigating further.

    Hi Lynn.
Sounds like the circulation pump isn’t running – given strange noise this may be some sort of blockage (foreign body in the pump chamber). Access is through the underside of the machine – I can’t offer you much more than that as I haven’t demolished one yet.

A local service engineer would charge you for at least an hours work. Rates vary widely across the country, so establish it when you make the appointment to avoid nasty surprises!

Power off if sending in son with screwdriver……

NN – you’ve almost certainly got a weight broken away. If you can get the rest of the model number from the label rather than the control panel, we should be able to give you a price for a replacement. There was a modification on certain 1034s IIRC.

Access to check – slip the front of the door seal off the casing and double it back inside to allow you to see in. Leaning the machine back at a good angle will cause the drum to move back giving more room.

UF – just a thought with yours – the lower mounting points for the suspension struts work loose/break away and can cause a noise not unlike a machine gun. Might be worth checking when you’ve got it tipped back.

Power off of course, please gents.

Temperature problem. Given that it blew the fuse, it is possible that the heater has failed.
