    Re: Cats

Gosh, 18 months since this thread ended. Well the little blighter is now about 15 years old, and is sadly as skinny as a rake. Thyroid problem identified, 3 pills a day ’til she well, snuffs it.

Julia has enlisted both the twins for the past week to:
    1) Catch cat
    2) Immobilise cat
    3) Open jaws of cat
    4) Drop in pill
    5) Catch and re-insert pill
    6) Repeat until swallowd
    7) Bandage Mummy.

Totally miss the point – the Cat is the ultimate cheese bandit (I know, don’t ask), so…….. for those of you trying to feed pills to cats……

    1) Strong (VERY strong) cheddar.
    2) Cut off enough for four lumps.
    3) Go small, medium, large, pill.
    4) Reduce large bit to plasticene and insert pill.
    5) Feed Cat – and she’ll love you for it.

    Simple really.
    Chris.

    Re: Sneaky Police Speed Trap

    Mike,
Based on the things you’ve told us to date, I woud suggest that your next vehicle should be a milk float. It’ll cover your daily patch quite nicely on the charge and there is no danger of speeding in a serious manner. Plenty of load capacity and ever so green. Allowing for the thousands of tons of nasties being dumped into the air by your local power station. Unless you want to run up to Gia and plug into the windmill.

    Re: Zanussi ZWF1420W

The “wash” part of the process has changed. You are no longer sploshing the clothes about in lots of water, you are now forcing a relatively small amount of detergent loaded water through the clothes instead. Because of the low water level dosage has become more critical than ever. Take the time to explain the difference betweent the old machine and the new and it’ll probably solve the problem.

What hot water? This’d be an issue at the end of the wash programme, not drying.

It’s a £200 Servis. What is the point? Break it, keep the motor and make some little old lady happy with a cheap fix in a years time.

Re: Fisher and Paykel fill valve turning on/off

The code given indicates a fault with the motor position sensor! These seem to be prone to corrosion problems. I imagine that the tub is suppose to revolve during fill? Presumably the computer is resetting to try and get the motor to run, so is turning the valve off at the same time. Check sensor and wiring first, if that checks out OK then the motor speed control board is the likely culprit.

    Power off if checking underneath.

Well the local birds round here definitely suffer from 6). The van’s blue, the Wolseley is blue, the wifes Renault is Silver but my SAAB is red. Oh boy, they love it…….

Going back a couple of pages, the parrot was innocent, albeit dead. It was a batch of finches that had the flu.

TOC40 kit does not contain a one-shot safety stat. It has a reset stat operating at a higher temperature, therefore it does not meet safety standards…………………

If triac had failed in the open position, you’d get fill and pump (from flood protection) together.

Tubular heating element most likely culprit. P/no 1115321-10/9, under £30 usually.

Being a built-in machine (F40660IW, you’re repairer will have probably included extra time for removing it from the housing.
