    Re: Zanussi FLS1383W motor problem

The motor is controlled by the PCB, as is the timer advance. It more or less has to be the board. Assuming the wiring to be intact of course. There are two different versions of this machine, so pnc code needed. EMW or QER will supply reconditioned units, a cheaper option if there is any doubt about the diagnosis.

    Re: Zanussi FJ1093 draining problem

Almost certainly a pump motor failure – if it drains by gravity it won’t be blocked.

http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … cts_id=394 is the one you want.

If you have not yet sent for an engineer check in repairs@ or Directories for a UKW engineer in your area.

Power off if you are going to investigate further.

Re: candy DWI 160 – flooding!

Some sort of failure in the water level control system – probably sludged up with food detritus. Engineer is your best bet as the machine will have to come out and panels removed to allow fix.

Check repairs@ or Directories for a UKW repairer in your area.

If you’re not going for F+P service, check on http://www.appliance.asn.au for a local repairer. This is the Oz trade association, so you should find a reputable repairer that way.

Re: Hoover WDM1300 Low Spin routine

If the triac were at fault with the description you have given, the motor would kick into spin whenever activated, so rule that one out. You need to start with the basics (you remember……) – check the filter (under the kickboard) and the sink coupling for blockages. The modern pumps can become intermittant due to the nature of the pump motor, so that may need checking as well.

In return for this free advice, I will expect the access codes for ATMs in the LS19 area by PM soonest…… 😀

Re: Speed Control / Motor Control Module

Not really – common sense mainly. If you’ve been having a surf around the site for info, you will have realised that we end almost all posts with “Power off” or the like. The reasons are twofold – most posts are answered by professional repairers, who are concerned for the safety of those asking for advice, secondly to legally cover our tails!

Martin has identified your problem in one; the saga in DIYNOT has drifted on indecisively for a good few posts, so next time, you know where to come………

So, once more for the cameras: Power off before investigating further.

    Good luck and regards,

Re: hotpoint DWF 33 suppressor explosion

Theoretically possible Simon. I have had a few SMEG dishwasher computer boards wiped by the suppressor going, but not this family of Hotpoint/Bosch ones, so the odds are good. Unfortunately, until you get power back into it there is no way of being absolutely certain.
