With the power on at the wall and the machine off, hold down the wash temperature down button, then press power. Press spin speed down button until slow and hold lamps are lit. The wash progress lights will illuminate in a particular combination to indicate any fault present. Tell us what it is and we should be able to advise further.
Regret we haven’t heard from Alexa recently, I do not have the Tech Info in a mailable format (That means paper!).

As far as I can tell, you need p/no C00021256 x 2 “side trim – white vertical adhesive moulding”. Not indicated as obsolete, about £6 each plus the VAT etc.

Tacho magnet off/loose; tacho coil open circuit; armature down to earth; faulty control board are the possibilities.

This’ll kill off the Oz forum – they don’t post in office hours, and there is some interesting traffic goes on.
I suggested to DC a while ago using the “type-in-the-cross-hatched-number” bit as a portal to the public forums – this auto-spam crap won’t be able to type in a number, however your average human should be able to, leaving Johnny Public free to post.
We have been banging on for months about one of the beauties of UKW was the ease of access for the Public. We will now lose this.

Bottom door seal is p/no 298534, about £17 plus the Vat etc. An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk to order.
Also, check the condition of the bottom rotor very carefully – they can split along the seams, giving this fault.

I don’t wish to be rude about it Martin, but you really are prepared to offer a guarantee on components which are designed to fail? I am not; and will not – Charter or not. The students are a specific case in point. If they don’t respond to the educational message about abusing their tumble dryer, why should this be my problem? The components have done their job after all.
Your wording is inclusive, not exclusive to each engineer; the wording presented in the proposed draft (which has taken a good few weeks to arrive at) gives engineers the option of guaranteeing these components if they wish. Personally, I won’t.
I really don’t see why any of our members should have to pay for the incompetance of our customers.

Looks like this one is digitally controlled. Beyond doing the “full defrost for 48 hours” routine, there’s not a lot for for the user to do beyond calling for some pro help.
Check repairs@ or Directories for a UKW repairer in your area.
