    Re: Another Intergrated D/W problem

It’s on SIOS, but there is no bottom pcb listed, only a “user board” in the door panel 😕 . Clear as mud…..

Anyway, if you want a hand when you go to fix it…….. 😀

    Re: FJ1296 brushes problem

A segment on the commutator (the copper strips which the brushes run against) will have begun to lift, causing the click as the brushes pass over. At high speed the brushes bounce clean off the raised section and arc, causing the electrical burning smell.

I’m afraid that you have no choice other than to replace the motor at the earliest opportunity.

Re: Diplomat ADP8234 – Dishwasher not working, symbol on dis

This has popped up several times, the three wavey lines with the cross means drying function deselected as an option. You’ll need to check your user book for resetting it.

    Re: UK Whitegoods Meeting 5

I suspect that you’re where I was when I joined UKW, Bazza. Got interested, started posting regularly, got involved and realised that firstly I shared the same interests, ideals and problems with a lot of others, secondly that we could make a difference if we keep on and on and on working at it and finally that putting faces to the various names that pop up on the site would help to consolidate friendships that were developing on-line.

I went to UKW3, which was interesting but (IMO) a bit weak in substance, UKW4 was a cracker, lots of ideas and work starting to come to fruition, Christmas dinner was just that – a really good social evening leading to some serious chat (and some serious partying).

5 will see lots of work coming together and being put into place for all of our benefits. As a sole trader Friday and Saturday are two good working days for me (I’ll probably work Sunday to catch up), but what we are beginning to achieve makes it worth while.

The catchphrase is “It’s your industry – be a part of it”. The meetings are the best hands-on opportunity you can get, so try and get there.

Besides, we all want to see the brawire I was so cruelly robbed of. Make sure its got a Tracker if Kev gets his hands on it. 😀

    Cheers,
    Chris.

    Re: Fisher and Paykel dryer

Funny how this is the second one in a couple of days…. You’re Bomboy as well, aren’t you?

We don’t honestly know the answer to your problem. Most of us are UK based and F+P laundry just doesn’t come this far.

Similar problems with European market sensor dryers are usually caused by sensor failure, or computer failure in that the board cannot detect the “gradient” between inlet and outlet sensors.

I assume that your F+P will work along generally similar lines, but can’t be more specific.

If you will bear with us, Alexa should be back on line within a short while, and as an Oz based engineer should be able to give you some more exact guidance.

Before rushing off and spending oodles of cash, it may be worth contacting http://www.emwelec.co.uk or http://www.qer.biz for a quotation on a repaired exchange board. They will want the number from the board to identify it, and will still be considerably less than a brand new one.

    Re: Dear BSH Man

    Goose,
The drain side of the fill matrix acts as an air break to prevent syphoning – that’s what the little rubber doofer on the top is for. If the drain water has discouloured the top section, it is backing up due to the blockage – it would normally flow through freely and not get to that height.

The matrix will lift out easily enough and can be flushed out. I got caught with one of these a while back where a piece of glass was in the matrix, obstructing it – completely invisible!

    Cheers,
    Chris.
