Start with the red button on the back – does it make a nice solid click when pushed? If it does, you have reset it and should get heat BUT – find the blockage.

Failing that, there is the heater and the thermostat on the back panel, and another thermostat down underneath. Any or all can fail.

Correct use of a multi meter is the only way to diagnose accurately, if you can’t do this, please get pro help. Check Directories or Repairs@ for a UKW engineer in your area.

    Power off if investigating yourself.

Machine employs a carbon brush motor to drive the drum, the brushes may be worn out and need replacing. The “tacho magnet” on the end of the motor may be working loose; this is another common problem. There are other possibilities, but without the model number I can’t be more exact.

Power off before any investigations please. :plug:

Some doors have the seal retained by screws, and on some it’s foamed in, requiring a replacement door.

If you would post the model number of your appliance, we should be able to advise further.

Lay the machine on its back. Remove small access panel (4 screws). Look in and you will see two arms with wheels at the end – these are the belt tension (or jockey) pulleys. A few drops of oil will usually shut them up. Do not use WD40 or other aerosol lubricants, you will get it on the belt.

    Power off, of course.

Possibly underfilling, so not enough water being pumped to top rotor is the first thought that comes to mind. Engineers job really – have a look in Directories or Repairs@ to see if there is a UKW engineer in our area.

Reset procdure will do no harm if you try it (start button 4 times BTW, not on/off). If the programme appears to select but doesn’t start I’d be more inclined to check the door latch/switch mechanism. The programme cannot start if the door is not shut properly.

    Power off of course :plug:

    Re: Leaking Hoover Nextra Dishwasher

There is an “O” ring seal fitted in the joint of the drain pump housing and the pump motor body. I take it you split this to clear the blockage? If it’s not refitted, the pump will leak.

If you have lost the seal, it is not available from Hoover as a specific spare part – they will only sell the pump complete. However, an “O” ring is an “O” ring, so a visit to a bearing/transmission factors will probably yield what you want.

Just been doing a bit more reading – it’s got a flowmeter as part of the inlet set-up, which will also give “HF” if it fails 😕 .

The one with the inlet valve at the tap end of the hose……. And a shut-off mechanism in the machine to kill it….. And occasionally a nasty red re-set button, so you have to depressurise the system in order to reset it.

    Wonderful things. Not.

Given that I absolutely detest the blasted things and would be reluctant to stand any sort of warranty on these machines, I always tell the customers about the 5 year warranty.

    Cheers,

Temperature sensor out of circuit is most likely culprit.

Check in Directories or Repairs@ for a UKW engineer in your area.
