Oh, yes – make them work. You have a 5 year parts warranty, so for £80, they will rebuild the drum for you. It’s a good deal actually, as I can’t even buy the components for that money!

Let us know how it works out – we love a happy ending 😀

Curiously enough, we’ve just been talking about this….. The drive belt is elasticated, so no tension adjustment is available on the motor. It really is a question of brute force. With the power off, of course.

More to the point, why ha sit come off? Excessive loads, poor drain and collapsed drum bearings can all cause this.

    Good luck,

Replacement level switch is 1529900-60/5 – £12.46 list, so cheap enough – trouble is job’s now a two hitter. Will you make enough if you have to go back?

    Re: Ariston Margherita 2000 ( AWD 10 UK ) Problem – please h

So, “Lucky” isn’t your middle name then? If you have had a scan through this and other similar threads, you will realise that any component failure is indicated by either an error code or flashing lights. Except the motor, but if it’s turning, don’t worry about it. The wash water level in these machines is exceptionally low, so that is not neccesssarily a fault.

The place to start will be with a bit of home maintenance. Clean out the soap box and drawer of any old powder and crud. Check the filter (under the kick board at the bottom) – this can restrict how the machine drains and affects the rinse quality. If it’s joined on at a sink coupling instead of a stand pipe, cleann that out as well. Lift the pleat of the doorseal and clean that out. Finally, egg-cup full of bleach, temperature to max and run the longest programme all the way through.

Also, consider the size of load to be washed, given the low water levels.

    See how you go,

The black marks may just be dusty deposits – pull the plug before investigating.

    Not the Cathy Kirb, surely?

If your machine has run satisfactorilly (sp?) for nine months and is only now showing the symptons, it would point to an armature fault with the motor. Difficult to be more exact without the model number – check around the door opening and door surround – it should be there somewhere.

We need the “pnc” number from the rating plate to specifically identify the motor, or the type of motor fitted – ie FHP, AEG, CESET etc. Piccie of holders would also do – email to admin@ukwhitegoods.com

You absolutely sure about this? The machine is a Comet exclusive, part number is 55×6544, £153.78 plus VAT and P+P. 😯 Before spending your dosh, might be an idea to explain your problem.

    Mark,
You want I should make trouble? I know I was right, but hey, all you big strong boys wanting to throw tanks around? Up to you….

Point to bear in mind here was “label”. Bosch haven’t been using labels for at least 8 years – engraving to the door inner top was the way. So – we can reasonably assume that Laurence with a U’s machine is an earlier model.

    Cheers,
    Chris.
