They will all be available through the spares@ part of this site. If they are not actually in the shop, an eMail to spares@ukwhitegoods.com will quickly find what you want.

    Evenin’ Inspector.

Washer dryers – bit of a pig-in-a-poke really. If you check the manual, you will find that combis will wash the usual 5kgs of laundry. However, they will only dry half of that at a time – at best. This is fine for light fabrics, you will really struggle to dry denim, courdroy and the like.

Reasons for this are the reduced size of the drum by comparison to a tumble dryer – the clothes don’t “fly” as well, and the inefficiences of the condensing drying sytem.

That said, 2 hours seems a little excessive. Try load reduction and ensure that any drying load has been spun at full speed. In addition full heat is more or less essential.

Oh, and the electric bill goes through the roof………….

So, to summarise, it’s fine as a back up system, but if you wish to you use it as a family washer and dryer it will, quite literally, run 12 hours a day!

That’s the joy of having an expert in the Office – the Mrs extracts the info, tells them off as required (ex-school teacher – can’t help herself….), so I know how bad it is before I go – assuming they accept the quote 😯 . Not to mention the ones she won’t sanction……..

You can have a free quote anytime you like – from the office. If I turn up to work you know what your likely to be having done and how much it costs – and you’ll pay.

At least Alexa’s got a decent beach to sit on. Apart from the sharks. Don’t like sharks… 😀 .

But really Pat, you’re way too cheap. And Phidom, we charge £65 for Zanussi boots without taking the drum out.

    Cheers,
    Chris.

Re: candy alise 105 changing bearings

    Welcome back Yurtsen.

Two problems to solve. The outer races can be removed with a stout steel bar (or “drift”) and a club hammer.

The race which is stuck on the shaft can be pulled with an automotive gear puller, if this is not easily available an angle grinder can be used to cut two flats on opposite sides of the race. Do NOT cut through. When the metal is very thin a cold chisel can be used to split the race into two parts.
Use extreme caution and full safety equipment. Do not cut onto the shaft, or the brass ring – instant scrap.

To size the bearings you will need to measure the diameter of the shaft and the diameted of the housing, front and back. We can size them from there. Save the oil seal, it will have its size moulded into it.

Take your time and good luck.

    Penguin45.

    Laura,
Please check the pump chamber again – it sounds as if something is actually in the pump and turning with the impellor, so it will probably jam again. Hands and knees, torch and a good feel about RIGHT at the back of the chamber.

    Re: Indesit D41 Error codes

    Edward,
The information is copyright to the specific appliance manufacturer and as such we are not allowed to publish it. However, as you have deduced the fault, the procedure is to UNPLUG the machine and tip the machine forward, towels at the ready. When the flow stops, the switch should have reset itself. Bear in mind though that draining the undertray cures the sympton, but not the disease. Find the leak!
