ParticipantRe: Between the drums
It can be done Andy, by removing the heating element and going fishing.
Power off first :plug:
If you are not confident, check Repairs@ or Directories for a UKW repairer in your area.

Anyone got any thoughts about the original point of this thread – limiting run away Public threads?
As for Yurtesen – Finnished? 😆

Roger,
Can you check that model number again? There are a couple of 1146 machines, but can’t find an 1164.Ta,

ParticipantRe: Electrolux seems possessed!!!
The motor tacho generates a signal which can be read by the digiboard or tupperware box and so allows motor speed to be controlled. The magnetic armature has a habit of working loose over time and can cause the coil assembly round it to be pushed off. Eccentric things then start to happen….. Check on the end of the motor, with the power off.
If no joy, engineer time.

Correct – power off first……… Your multimeter can also be used to check whether the regulator is switching or not.

ParticipantRe: Dyson washing machine RIP
Whole thing was a bit cock-eyed in retrospect. Factory service for £58 inc parts was good, but for a grand, shouldn’t it have been reliable in the first place? For that money I’d have bought Miele and called them out if 5-7 years time.

😳 Sorry Andy, missed this – he’s right – reading out of accepted “range”. 😳

Fair point Dave, but he’ll be back……..
Not really the point – we ought to sort out some sort of “cut off” – a key phrase, an emoticon that the regular public forum posters recognise – something.
In the mean time, let’s get the provisional wing of UKW to fit a tracker on Martins van and see where he goes over the next few weeks.

ParticipantRe: is there a decent washer dryer that dry’s well
The wash water level on a WA110 is below the door seal, even allowing for what is absorbed into the wash load. From memory there’s a bit more in for rinse, but unless you select the wool programme you won’t see much water.
Tumble dryer in the garage? Generally a cold place so vented steam will condense almost immediately. If the garage is empty it won’t matter, if you keep tools and gardening stuff in it a vent-out arrangement would be a good idea – or a condensing dryer. The blower type is simpler and a “Through the wall kit” will generally cost less than £20, although you do face the fun of fitting it.

It’s too late to type it all out again, so:
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … pic&t=4962will give you some idea. The machines are all limited in ability, the Zanussi ones do seem to be a bit more effective than most. Or, buy German and pay for the quality.

ParticipantRe: Indesit Dishwasher error code A05
It’s to do with the temperature control circuit. Sensor failure, wiring failure, electronic board failure all possibilities.
Check Repairs@ or Directories for a repairer in your area.
If you are going to have a look yourself, pull the plug first. :plug:Regards,

Water level control problem – check for blockages in the lower air chamber, pressure hose integrity and action of pressure switch.
Pull the plug before touching anything :plug:

Check the dryer thermistor – weird things happen with that. Otherwise p/sw wiring or module.

ParticipantRe: Who charges what for what ??
Poll unlikely to produce significant results based on UK. Problem is that “London and Home Counties” prices are likely to be 30-40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} higher due to their significantly higher overheads compared with the more northern cities. Rural areas will be higher too, as they cover larger areas and can do fewer calls per day.
In my own case, I’m very busy in a very small patch – heaven! But that’s not how it works for everyone………
And – we have no regulation at all with regard to pricing, so we will always have a few, shall we say, taking advantage.
