Flood protection operating? There’s a float switch mechanism in the tray under the machine which will run the drain pump regardless of the programming.

Power off, drain off, find the leak.

Do cruise ships dock at Cyprus? You could take a whole tank assembly in steerage………. 😀

Flood protection is operating – the tray under the machime is full of water, thus raising the float switch.

If you only bought in February, use your guarantee.

As you have got the tie bars removed from the matrix, you will probably realise that it can be removed. Back filling and vigorous shaking is about your only option.

1/ Don’t lose the “O” rings where the spouts plug in.
2/ The back of the matrix is a plastic sheet – it’s fragile, so be careful.

The two in the clip are the operating or ‘cycling’ thermostats. You’re looking for a brass and plastic doofer screwed to the floor of the tub. It looks like THIS.

Impellor and seal kit is p/no 50248332-00/4 – spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one promptly.

The odds of finding a used set in decent nick arte rather slim.

Check the carbon brushes in the motor. If the drive motor is out of circuit, the only functional programme is drain.

    Useful article HERE.

Selection of Whirlpool carbons can be found HERE.

    Power off, of course.

    You mis-understand…….

Like the Sandinista in Nicaragua before them, the Penguinista carry out the Antartic Liberation Fronts’ military requirements. Even now, you’re probably surrounded and being watched (Oh, they’ll have scoffed the contents of the pond by now, as well). No fish in the morning? We’ve found you…….

Re: Whirlpool AWM8103-6K not washing properly

Errrr – nothing should be hot at the end of the cycle……..

These old dual fill machines use a hot intake for some of the wash programmes – the rinses should be cold-fill only. All sorts of strange things will happen if the hoses are reversed – especially to the laundry, as the household hot supply can come through at up to 65c.

Set the machine to a rinse and spin cycle and check what is coming through the drawer.

Otherwise, cleaning and boiling as per the articles in the FAQ is the way ahead.

    A “standard” programme is normally:

    Cold pre-wash.
    Hot wash.
    Cold Rinse.
    Hot rinse and dry.

Meter heater – you’re looking for an ohms reading in the 20’s.

The name covers a number of models produced over the years – the actual model number is what is required – should start 2—–.
