The machine should fill, then start to tumble gently. If it fills then starts banging about violently, the motor will be running without speed control. This could be down to the tacho (feedback) circuit in the motor; broken wiring (common) or a pcb problem.
If it only does it on the spin sequence, I’d be looking for a blockage.
Power off if you intend to work on the machine yourself.

This came up before…
I *think* you need:
4819 528 88108 – pulley
4819 404 79189 – bracketChris.

NTC (temperture sensor) fault – you’ll need one of THESE.
It’s the finger sticking up in the sump and is a twist-fit from underneath.
Given the time of year and the extreme cold, if your kitchen is too cold you may get this fault. Try pouring in a jug of hot water a few minutes before setting the machine off – you might just hit lucky.
Power off if you decide to change the sensor.

CW496?
If so, it’s a Whirlpool-built machine. Four flashes means drain not detected in the time allowed.

I can only assume he lives in a house without windows… You guys are getting more than we are and we’ve had another 3″ tonight down here.
Out again tomorrow.

My Scud hasn’t got any clever gizmos, just my feet.
I’ve got stuck once so far and it took about 10 minutes to get out of it.
Fun job so far was out on a farm past North Rigton. Phoned customer to sat that I was on my way – turned into farm track to be faced by the back of a large tractor and a bloke holding a chain…. We got there. Fixed it, then he dragged me back down the track. Paid up without any complaints as well – nice.

Hi Leigh,
Not sure about the shortform for the codings you’ve put up – have a look at the top of the forum and try the diagnostics we’ve posted.
Initial thoughts would be a valve problem…

Yup, welded tub. No hose connections in that area, so I’d be looking for coin damage.
Don’t waste too much time on it.

PCB, PCB, PCB and possibly, PCB?
Typical – they’ve bought it cheap after the collapse, now the want to do SOGA. Personally, I wouldn’t get involved….
