Drum bearing and shaft repacement kit is HERE. You may need THIS as an additional part.

A failure at the front will not cause squeaking, but will make unpleasant grating noises.

Whatever proves to be the problem, it’s a demolition job. Side panels off and drum out for proper access.

Correct….. They will figure out a solution and might even do it within your warranty period. It’ll probably involve relpacing the sensors and the pcb, so it will cost them an arm and a leg. Don’t expect an instant fix.

It’s just the stat. It’s a snap-fit into the back of the selector switch, so a firm pull will separate them.

    Re: Hotpoint WD860 Flash, Bang & F07

F7 is a heater relay stuck fault. The flash bang is probably the heater exploding due to the relay on the pcb. Both will almost certainly need replacing.

There’s no such thing as a free lunch – the 5 year parts warranty will give you the parts for free as part of a fixed price call out from the Indesit Company at £105.

Hotpoint, Indesit and Ariston are all basically the same product these days – only the names and aesthetics are different.

A little bit of patience is required. There are a number of BSH engineers who read and post on the site and they’ll be able to advise you.

Bearing and seal kit is HERE.

The bearings are in the cross-piece on the rear of the tub. 9 bolts and it pulls off.

A big hammer and stout steel bar are essential equipment for the next bit….. Work gloves and eye protection sre also a good idea.

    Power off first, of course.

Base panel off for access, so it’ll have to come out.

Element is correct; thermostat is p/no 818731181. spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you on promptly.

I would suggest that you use your test meter to check whether or not the thermostat is switching – it is just a make and break switch. Element should read about 25ohms when metered. It’s fitted by nuts from the back.

    No, it’s a Whirlpool.

If it comes up F4 and is actually draining, the fault is with the water level indicator – probably full of fatty deposits.

The lights should flash in a pattern – ie, 1-2-3-4-pause-repeat. This represents an error code.

The activation device in the door lock is faulty. You will need to replace the lock as an assembly – p/no 814490202. spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one promptly.

Power off if you intend to sort this for yourself.
