Re: LG Dishwasher Model LD-12AW2 Not filling

Check out LG’s website at http://www.lge.com.au and click on product safety. There has been a recall of that model dishwasher if the serial number is within a certain range. If yours is one of the affected ones you should receive a new electronic board even if it is out of warranty.

edit: This information applies to LG products in Australia

    Re: miele dishwasher problem

Most likely cause would be a faulty pressure switch – the one that is attached to the wash pump. If that hasn’t operated when the heater is due to come on the inlet/outlet light will flash.

Other possibilities are low water level due to faulty inlet valve or low pressure.

Original part number for pressure switch: 5419692

    Re: LG Dishwasher LD-12AW2

Drain pump runs for around 30 seconds at start of each cycle, so that looks like the most obvious cause (though can’t guarantee that from here)

I still would have expected an error code though…

Part number for the pump is 4681EA2002B and would set you back around $60-$70

edit: It might pay to remove the control PCB and check that it looks good and the plastic housing is not deformed. Power off if opening the panel as many live connections there :zap:

Re: continue trying to repair or go for reconditioned Miele

Which W423 is it? a W423 or W423 DR are 20 – 30 years old and I wouldn’t recommend spending that sort (AU450?) of money on a Miele washer that old – too many things can cost >$300 to fix and suddenly you are in the realms of a cheap new machine.
A W423 SR is only a couple of years old and I would be suspicious of why it would be sold so cheap – but that would certainly be a good buy if it is a genuine sale.

Some of these dishwashers were recalled. See the Product Safety link at http://au.lge.com/index.do and compare the serial numbers listed with your own dishwasher

Normally there will be an error code come up in the display when the dishwasher detects an error. More information would be a big help.

    Re: Miele G522.

A very common cause of not heating in Miele dishwashers is the high level pressure switch not operating. Usually you can hear the operation as you start and stop the dishwasher with water in it – if you can’t hear a faint click then that is the culprit. There are several different versions of this switch – three listed as curent for the model you posted – so the ‘T’ number off the old switch would help.

There are 2 pressure switches in the machine, the one for overfill detection has a small hose connecting to the bottom of it and the one for heater operation has a larger hose connecting to the back of it.

    Re: Bosch SMS5012 Won’t Empty

There are 2 pumps, one for washing and a seperate pump for draining. The drain pump could be blocked or faulty, or the spiggot under the sink that the drain hose connects to could be blocked (less likely as you have already had this off) – power off if checking under the machine.

Thanks, I didn’t think to relate the SC to the model variant. I’ve learnt something here too 🙂

    Re: Fairy Active Bursts

I’ve had problems with hot fill, on machines that fill while not pumping. These can get a surge on motor starting and flood out the corners of the door. Dishwashers that fill while pumping will not have this problem and can normally be operated fine on hot water – it also has the benefit of a much quicker wash.

My information doesn’t show a kit, but the following part numbers may help
    2599491 – Spray arm SC DRM31/27
3521352 – Spray arm retainer SC

    2239300 – Spray arm
    3521362 – Spray arm retainer

Not sure exactly what the codes mean, but the SC version is about twice the price – could be stainless rather than plastic

I’d agree with penguins assesment, I can’t think of anything else that could cause this behaviour on a timer controlled machine. Most likely the capacitor will be near the motor or behind the control panel.

Let us know how you get on.

Check the heater pressure switch – you can normally hear it operate starting and stopping the machine with water in it, though this will not always show up intermittent faults. I find sometimes they can deteriorate at an early age and operate intermittently. This fault occurs when the pressure switch hasn’t operated when heating is due to start

    Original part number is 5419692

My Australian information comes up with A645328600 Adaptor (Most aussie part number replace 899 with A).
It looks like what you are describing and converted from 899645050950

Re: miele G7762 salt light on

    G7762 is a commercial dishwasher
As far as I can tell (using information for similar models) the recativation light comes on after a certain number of operations after reactivation, based on the hardness programmed into the machine.
The machine, when new, would have come with an installation booklet with the hardness table and setting instructions, so hopefully them owners stil have the book (unfortunately I am still trying to source information for this model, my local hospital is full of them as pan washers)
