    Re: Vehicle

You’re lucky Seamy, my 59 plate has been a pig.
23000 new cylinder head would have been £3200 but under g’tee 18 months
    54000 new dmf clutch £650
now 64000 drive shafts on the way. Approx £800
It’s on it’s way after a service tomorrow.
Worst van I’ve ever had, my LDV Pilot was basic but soldiered on for 98000 until I upgraded to this waste of space.
“If only everything was as reliable as a VW” yeah right!
    And I drive gently.

I recommended Smeg before Bosch in the past year both for washers and dishwashers.
For budget it was Amica and even White Knight washers for price and they have been remarkably reliable over the past couple of years.
I didn’t sell one Hotpoint since Indesit took control and don’t think it was a bad decision,

Re: Is it just me or is anyone else quiet?

After keyhole surgery on my knee in March which needs doing again I’ve decided to retire(would be hammered with tax if I kept going as an OAP)and since that decision the phone has rung probably 4 times a week if that. I refer callers to a local engineer but must say I couldn’t have survived on what’s coming in and as the weather is great I’m enjoying sitting in the garden. 8)
I remember when I worked for Servis, both of them, it went dead around May and June but since being self employed it has never been this quiet.
I hope it picks up soon for all you lads.

I’ve had a CK bag for two years, still as new and no problem with zips. Would buy another if I wasn’t about to retire.

    Hi Simon,
I’ve used Swift for many years,I’m in Puddletown, deliveries Monday and Wednesday with no charge, good drivers and always ring an hour away. Giving up now as knees have gone but would recommend them any day.
PM me and if I have any old customers in Weymouth I can give them your number.

I think your decimal point is in the wrong place but if you have really repaired 0.1{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} I take my hat off to you. That’s a lot of machines. 😆

    Re: qualtexs public web spares,site,

Just checked Qualtex and ASW for a stat.
On Qualtex OUT of stock but to purchase £4.10 plus VAT and postage.Approx £14.50
    ASW..IN stock £10 inc p+p
Who are they catering for, trade or public? I know if I need more parts it would work out cheaper but why can’t they do a cut rate delivery for one off small parts. The other thing is why in stock on ASW and not on Qualtex?
I think I need to chat to their rep

Must have been the cup of tea they gave me, don’t know why I thought it was only a rinse hold. :boops:

Re: drum shaft or no drum shaft ?

Depends on the make..Zanussi always,Hotpoint WM always,WMA depends on condition, others, if neccessary.
To my mind if I’m doing the repair I will decide, not someone sitting in an office. With 12 months guarantee you and only you should decide as you are taking the risk.

I wonder what they would gain from before and after pictures of a drain pump or a door lock.

    Re: connect rep

I’ve used them much less lately, Had to wait from February to June for a valve on a Maytag(Whirlpool)dishwasher.
Qualtex often have popular parts out of stock so should look to get them replenished (often Beko/Lamona) whereas Connect will nearly always have stock.
    As for Masterpart………….
