    Re: Waste Carriers Licence

Ask your local council, they are the ones who decide. I have a licence but trade waste in my local tip isn’t allowed, a large fine or imprisonment if caught.

    Diagnosed a cooker tripping electric.
I get there selector switch blown but there is a short somewhere, the wall switch stuck, won’t move. I find a short on the cable in the wall so customer gets an electrician out to fit a new socket, he says the ring is shorting so I go back to check, no it’s wiring in the wall (didn’t the electrician check? obviously not) and new socket switch is stuck. He comes out again, all working.
Customer rings and says everything is ok now apart from only part of the ring is dead so we don’t need a new switch after all. I say it’s ordered so you do need it and you will pay me for the whole job. 👿
Son rings me, can’t you cancel the switch so I say even if I don’t fit the switch you will pay the full amount due. Alright he says sheepishly.
A final note:- absolutely minted but want it all on the cheap. Typical
    Oh, I enjoyed that! 😛

I’ve got a cylinder Goblin from the 60s, 350 watts and it knocks spots off my Dyson DC01 which isn’t used much, mind you the motor is the size of a front loader motor and very quiet too. 😆

    Huh?
Have you read the review? Who would write that? Not an ordinary customer who was stupid to part £1700?

At the top the reviewer is identified as “John Lewis Product Specialist” located at Peter Jones, part of the group.
    There is your answer.

They seem to have replaced many manufacturers numbers with their own. Could this be to stop cross referencing?
Just look at Bosch or Hotpoint parts.

Re: HOTPOINT tumble dryers (the belt breaking bearing munche

I would beg to differ Ken, I see many bearings worn through and even the cabinet rear cutting through the shaft but the belt is still fine. I have more rear bearings on my van than belts. This can only be down to the tension of the belt and not purely the weight of clothes which I grant you could cause the drum to slow or stop. The belt is far too thin and the tension too high. As I said before these problems were almost unheard of before the jockey pulleys were removed.

Re: HOTPOINTtumble dryers (the belt breaking bearing muncher

I don’t agree about overloading doing the bearing, it’s only become a problem with the rear bearing since the jockey pulleys were removed and the new belt applied. Before then it never happened. I’ve had old ladies with worn bearings who haven’t got enough washing to overload it. Just a cost saving idea that Hotpoint/Indesit hope will last a year thereafter they can charge an exorbitant fee to repair. Unless we get the job.

Lawrence and Tim……..It worked after several attempts. Thanks
It was a WAE24061 although search sent me to this thread.
Martin, didn’t need to disconnect the motor but will remember that for another time.
