Re: Creda 10200. How old is it?

    Oh yes Kevin.
I was there from 1982(24 years ago 24th June) just as Centreway took over from Wilkins and Mitchell. Bearings and spincare tubs but when they rivited them they were ok ’till the chevron tubs came in. Happy days pre Moat. Still, at least they were made to last then and still a few Quartz around including mine!
Would that machines were still made to last.
Anyone still around on here from Barking?

Don’t know wher those prices came from. You could try repairs@ for a more realistic quote of around £85

He’s right and as with all Servis the serial no. is all important as they change parts at will. I think I know the part you want but there are two versions so can’t advise without serial.

    Re: Hotpoint WM73

well I went back and you were both dead right. The heater cured it and double points to Martin. Not sure what I was on but must have messed up the test. My only excuse is nearly 3 hours of trying to get the old bearing shells out in a small kitchen did my brain in but why E 13 when it wasn’t anything to do with pumping out?
    Thanks again

    Re: Hotpoint WM73

I did megger the heater and it’s ok ( 21 OHMS) and heats the water but it was wrapped with an old sock so could have been damaged but not by the drum.
Am going back tomorrow so will try a new on. Incidentally, would it also cause it not to fill properly as customer has come back since first post?
    Thanks

    Re: Van Servicing

    Hi all.
    Thanks for the replies.
My village garage(Puddletown) used to service my van when I worked for Servis UK and charged £75 + parts for a sevice opposed to Renault at £160 and I trusted him to do a good job. It was the warranty bit I was concerned about and will now book a service with him.
    Cheers again.

Recently wanted an agitator ( Velo make from Holland) from Qualtex (2 years old t/t) and they had none so contacted Norfrost who said part obsolete. Great Product!!! 🙁

Had a couple of these recently. Having replaced bearings around 9 months ago they went again but managed to get them to buy replacement whirlpool 1200’s with a £20 reduction. Have now stopped repairing bearings on these and Aristons ‘cos they aint worth it.Flog ’em a new one I say!!!!
    P.S. I like Whirlpool

I allways say if you must wash them also load some towels with them but not with plastic paddle drums and only slow spin progs
