    Re: Scrap value

You wuz robbed. It’s £30/tonne at the mo. which by my reckoning should be £2.40 for a 80Kg machine.

There are other funny bits too. Definitely not a British way of discussing technical problems and fault diagnosis…… :rolls:

That’s right. You just have to know how to get into them. They’ve even got a schematic diagram inside.

I didn’t used to have that problem years ago when Eddie was there all the time. I’d phone up occasionally for advice and he’d give it me.

Yes, the motor is secured to the gearbox by two spring clips which are screwed into the motor end frame. Disconnect the wiring to the motor and capacitor, remove the screws, snap the clips off and the motor pulls off. You’ll then see the two halves of the resilient drive. It’s easy.

    It’s part no. 481932528035

Actually, I’d phone QER and ask them if they’ve got one of those boards in stock, and if so, would they kindly have a look and tell me the value of the resistor.

There’s no compressor cooling fan and the condenser is on the back. Is the diverter valve stuck open/closed?

Three pronged. Well, six in total; three on each half.

When Bernstein went into administration a few years ago the administator at Price Waterhouse Coopers told me I was legally entitled not to pay for the spares I’d received for the jobs I hadn’t been paid for. As I mentioned on the Bernstein thread recently we creditors have just been paid a dividend of 30{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of what I was owed, but I haven’t been asked to pay for the spares.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, I’ve had two non gen ones fail at the same house in the last 4 months; three in the last year.
