Re: another obscure list of part no’s needed

Send me an email with a photo of the push button unit to info@appliancecentre.net . I’ll see if I can identify it from that and see if I’ve got one.

Not come across that myself but it’s always worth trying.

Presumably the fridge is cooled by air ducted up from the freezer. When you shut the fridge door you’re compressing the air which is forced into the freezer pushing the door open. Try shutting the fridge door slowly; that should stop it. I don’t think the size of the gap between the two doors is relevant.

😆 Free on-site parking; that clinches it; I think I’ll apply! I assume from the salary offered that the generous holiday entitlement is 20 weeks per year.

    Re: Advice to hotpoint customers

In my opinion I have no moral obligation whatsoever to tell a customer that somebody else will do a repair cheaper than I will. I charge a minimum of £50 labour charge whereas a friend of mine a few miles away charges £40. I don’t have any moral obligation to tell my customers this and if I did I wouldn’t have any customers! This is no different to telling customers about Hotpoint. Suppose all manufacturers had the same arrangement; would you tell every customer to ring the manufacturer as it’ll be cheaper? 😆

If you’re selling a washing machine in your shop, do you tell customers that they can buy the same machine £10 cheaper down the road?

As my children would say, ‘Yeah right!’

    Today £40 per tonne.

    Only £120? I got £170 for a while.

Oh yes, I ‘ve always done it occasionally as well while thinking about the jobs but normally only once in a journey! But up till a month ago I didn’t have to think about what to do for tea; I do now 🙁 .

So it does; you’re spot on as usual 🙂 . I didn’t notice those options at the bottom of the page. My brain’s not functioning at normal capacity at the moment. I drove over to Urmston the other day – about 4 miles away and a journey I’ve only been doing for 20 years and went the wrong way twice during the journey.
Ah well; things can only get better as I’m sure Gordon Brown is thinking.

    Thanks Jim,

It’ll be 1604485, the earlier one with 2 valves that I need, I think. The diagram on Partfinder [ item 108] shows it with valves and doesn’t show the valve assembly separately. The ‘detail’ information tells you about the early and late assemblies with 2 or 3 valves, but as far as I can see doesn’t tell you which part no. is which; really useful!

In fact I’ve just looked up 1604485 on Connections and it looks like the correct part with 2 valves from the photo. They don’t show a photo of 1605297.

Blimey that was quick; thanks Chris but I think that’s the other one. The one I need is the one that screws onto the plastic dispenser moulding, and appears to come complete with it. It’s item 108 on the Partfinder diagram.

    Hi Lawrence,

I missed you guys as well 😥 ; I just wasn’t up to it under the circumstances. Much too soon. Even the prospect of Cher didn’t appeal. Hopefully I’ll be there in February feeling a bit better 🙂 .
