    Re: Nardi guarantee

I’ve not bought anything from them for probably 15 years, since the graded machines they supplied me with were just botched-up faulty ones.

    Re: neff oven

The resistance of this element when cold is about 30 ohms. That of the faulty Masterpart ones is about 125ohms so you can avoid a wasted visit. The Qualtex ones are ok; as far as I’m aware it’s only the Masterpart ones which are faulty.

    Re: Grill switch conversion chart

The Aga dual-fuel range grill regulator is connected as follows and the Rangemaster is probably the same.

Live in from main terminal block via a cut-out to P1
Neutral from main terminal block to 4
Inner grill connected between 2 and 4
Outer grill connected between 2 and P2
S1 and S2 if used are for the neon indicator.

Hope this helps. If I can find an actual conversion chart I’ll put another post on.

It sounds like the XOU188 Formula 2 double oven. That was the one where the main oven door hinge retainers always used to break, for which a modified design was brought out.

I asked the same question in May but was unable to get to bottom of it. Caple is the brand name of wholesaler Maurice Lay but even they couldn’t identify the cooker.

Thanks Steve. I think I’ll close this one down now. The customer’s going to carry on using the machine without the insert anyway.

Re: caple dishwashers D1415 AND D1440

I’m going out on a Caple dishwasher tonight model DI413 [or D1413] stopping mid-cycle but from what the customer is saying it’s full of water but not heating. I’ll bear your problem in mind while I’m there and report back if I can spot anything that may be significant. I was going to put a post on asking if anyone knew who makes these.

    Re: KGV3120GB01 Not Running

You join the ends connected to the plug. The pcb then sees a short circuit instead of the thermistor resistance. The thermistor is then redundant; just tape up the ends of its wires.

    Re: KGV3120GB01 Not Running

Thanks Simon, I knew I’d seen it here before but was was just going to re-write it as it was easier than searching for it.

To sum up; if it’s a 4-wire thermistor connector, cut and join wires 1 and 3 to short out the thermistor. Don’t touch 2 and 4.

If it’s a 3-wire connector, cut and join wires 1 and 2, but this must be done further back where [black] wire 1, which is a common connection to the 2 thermistors, separates out into the 2 blue wires, one going to each thermistor. You cut wire 2 [dark brown] and the blue wire that forms part of the same thermistor as wire 1 and join them thus shorting out the thermistor. You are effectively doing the same job as if it was a 4-wire connector.
