    Re: KGV3120GB01 Not Running

If it runs and gets down to temp, cuts out and won’t re-start until you switch it off at the mains and then switch it back on again it needs the thermistor by-pass modification doing. If you think that’s your problem I’ll put another post on tomorrow with how to do it. It’s a bit late to do it now.

I don’t know anything about these machines in particular but have you checked for a leaking/blocked pressure chamber/hose?

    Re: electrolux wascator we50

It’s quite easy. Take the soap tray out. Take the machine front panel off [2 torx screws at the bottom front and one at the top at the soap drawer. [I think there are 3; it’s the lowest one].

You then have to take off the panel behind, which if I remember correctly is the drum front panel. Forgotten if it’s screwed or clipped on [it’s a long time since I’ve done one] but it comes off easily and the interlock is then accessible. I may have missed something out but once you’ve got the outer casing front panel off it’s obvious what to do next. I figured it out when I had to do it so it must be easy.

    Hi Mandells,

When I change one of these circ pumps because the impeller has fallen off or the windings have burnt out I save the impeller housing/hose if it’s still ok. 😉 If you’d like one please pm me.

    Re: Slowdown in Payments Received

I’ve decided to cancel my MFI agency. I’ve been receiving virtually no work from them recently and the admin has become very difficult. First you’re having to ensure you invoice the correct one of three companies depending on the job number, and as Alex said reconciling the payments is a nightmare as invoice nos or FSR numbers no longer appear on the remittance paperwork. It’s bad enough with 3 or 4 jobs where the amounts are the same so I don’t know how you guys doing a lot of work for them cope. Having read the foregoing posts on this I now wonder whether this may be deliberate.

Re: Thoughts post 2006 September meeting

One thing is needed for the next meeting. Name badges please. I had to ask one or two who they were, and there were a few who I never found out the identity. ……… Think about it, any-one could have turned up on Friday, and we would have been none the wiser. I know we have nothing to hide, but it keeps it professional like.

Good idea Alex. There’s another reason: some of us are viewing middle age appearing on the horizon and we don’t always remember peoples’ names from six/twelve months before. Can be embarrassing! There are people at my tennis club where I’ve been a member for 2 1/2 years whose names I can’t always remember.

What was that well-known brand of washing machine that began with H ?

    Thanks Mark,

Would failure of this microswitch prevent the machine from draining/filling at the start of a programme?

    Re: Zanussi W/Dryer model WDT1072

    Hi cab,
The rate of flow of water into the condenser is pretty fast so it sounds as though the restricter is the problem. The condenser/tub inlet isn’t blocked; I checked that. The valve assembly doesn’t look easy to dismantle [unless it’s misleading] so I think I may make a restricter to fit in that narrow supply hose to the condenser, rather like that one Hotpoint used to fit in the pressure hose of the microprofile washing machines years ago.
    Thanks for the help.

Caple is the brand name of Maurice Lay, 0870 6069606. If you’re lucky they’ll be able to identify your models but don’t be too hopeful. See my post about cooker hinges.
