No, they all come with a two year guarantee regarless of registration.
So why do they tell the customer they have to register it and enclose a reply form for doing so? Is it just so they can pick up the customer and try and sell them an extended warranty?

Baron [who’s up very late; it’s 2 hours later in Rumania π ] has jogged my memory. I had one with no baffle opening and it was corroded pins in the plug/socket to the baffle motor. The display showed an error code of EA. Worth checking that.
Have you changed both the green and yellow thermistors? I think it’s unlikely to be a board fault.

Some of these machines suffer from the heater relay soldered joints on the pcb overheating and degrading; check for that. Sometimes cleaning them up and re-soldering solves the problem, but sometimes there are other faults on the board as well and it has to be replaced.

Unfortunately not. Any of us who sell appliances is responsible, see http://www.dti.gov.uk/files/file32482.pdf chapter 1, para 2.
The same document explains that [or rather my understanding of it is that] the retailer/distributor who supplies the new machine has to either remove the old machine foc or explain to the customer where he can dispose of it foc at a designated site, and that this is in force now. Perhaps somebody can correct me if that’s wrong; I’ve not spent time reading through the myriads of documents about this .

Just been having a look at their website and tried using the ‘Branch Locator’ facility, where you put in your postcode for the details of the nearest branch π . Whatever postcode you put in [in different parts of the country] the same phone no. comes up π , and after about four goes it stops working π― !
Those of us who’ve been in this business for 20 years have seen loads of different schemes like this come and go :rolls: . They’ve all got one thing in common; none of them works π .
