But it’s nearer to Glasgow and Sheffield than Birmingham is, so some people will benefit. 😆

    Re: Electrolux RM120 Gas Fridge

Haven’t got a clue but we converted one to electrical operation once years ago. It’s not difficult; if I remember correctly you just fit the electrical heater element in place of the gas heater and add a thermostat. The cabinet and steel pipework was exactly the same.
Sorry that wasn’t much help to you was it 🙁 , but somebody may be interested 😆 .

Thanks Bryan, that’ll be jolly useful. There are an awful lot of these machines around now and it would be useful to know if there’s a solution to this problem. While you’re talking to him can you see if they could alter the dimensions of the concrete weight to allow more clearance for accessing the door seal band clamp on the outer tub? You even have to get the drum assembly out to change the door seal.

    Re: Tecnik TKL925.

I’ve no doubt that some people have managed to do it by manoeuvering the collar in from the outside like that or some other way, but I’ve tried all that and couldn’t do it. Perhaps if anybody reading this has managed it they could let us know how they did it!

    K.

Good idea; Here’s a start. The manufacturer is an Italian company called Siltal.

    Tecnik: TKL 925, 9260, 9290.
    Cookers: 800670, 800770, 800770-2.
    White Westinghouse: 200670, 200770.
    CDA: CI392, 393, 532, 592, 992, 993.

Re: HPT BF12P integrated dishwasher: no spring tension on do

No, if there’s no earth continuity from the machine to earth , there is no path for earth leakage current to take, resulting in the currents in the live and neutral being the same , preventing the rcd from operating. The device works by measuring the difference between the current in the live and that in the neutral, which is the current travelling down the earth conductor.

Yes, I think so. Unless you want to strip the drum down and re-fit the collar from the inside!

    Re: Tecnik TKL925.

That’s what I did, glued the hose in place and left the collar out, but it didn’t work; the thing still leaked. These machines are being sold with the CDA label now; great news for all us CDA service agents.

It’s not only the sump hose, it’s the soap dispenser hose as well by the way. But cheer up, it’s not all bad news; to change the door seal you only have to take the tub/drum assembly out of the cabinet, you don’t actually have to remove the inner drum from the outer tub!

Check for water in the base as well. The TKD795 is a BSH machine, there’s another one made by Whirlpool but I can’t remember the number.

Thanks for the correct information about the thermistors sparkey. This begs the question “If there’s no temp control in the freezer, what’s switching the compressor on/off if the fridge isn’t cooling? Is it just switching off on defrost? In which case you’d expect the compressor to be hotter.

Re: Bosch Fridge freezer – KGV-2604-GB/05

When you do the mod you cut out the fridge thermistor and the compressor & the whole system is controlled by the freezer thermistor only, but it all still works ok. Assuming the gas enters the freezer evaporator first, if there wasn’t enough gas to cool the fridge this wouldn’t get detected as the fridge thermistor has been disconnected. The compressor would get hot if it was running all the time, but if it’s being controlled by the freezer thermistor which isn’t faulty it’ll switch on & off as normal provided there’s enough gas to cool the freezer properly. I still think that’s your problem. Hoping this is clear; I don’t think I,ve explained it very well.

Re: Bosch Fridge freezer – KGV-2604-GB/05

I think I’m correct in saying [but stand to be corrected if necessary] that the modification involves bypassing the foamed-in fridge thermistor when it has become waterlogged or faulty]. The symptom of this is that the whole appliance shuts off when down to temp and doesn’t come back on again until it’s switched off at the mains and switched back on again, when the process repeats itself.
Your problem doesn’t sound like that as there’s only one refrigeration circuit. If the compressor’s running and the freezer’s at the correct temp but the fridge is warm it sounds to me like a system fault [short of refrigerant or inefficient compressor. But one of guys with more experience of these may have a better idea.
