Check the external fan is running at the back near the compressor.

The PNC type number would be required as a lot of models used the same name.

If E7 was showing it may be the freezer evaporator thermistor faulty.

Try a 48 hour defrost with the doors open in case the evaporator has iced up.

If it has an inverter compressor and PCB the inverter PCB is fitted in a box at the bottom right at the back of the fridge freezer.

Some / most RSA 1 models have an inverter compressor.

The mains lead is attached to the box at the rear.

Check to see if it has an inverter PCB before ordering a main PCB

At this time of year you have to think of someone else who tried to do good and was crucified for it.

ISE tried to offer an alternative to the big manufacturers and it failed now some people are looking for someone to crucify for it.

It just goes to show why some people will walk past someone collapsed on the floor or someone being attacked and not get involved as someone will always try to crucify them if there help goes wrong.

I am nothing to do with ISE but this is my observations of this Topic.

I think it is time to move on as bitterness can eat you up.

If you look on the inverter PCB there is a neon light. If it stays on continuous the PCB and compressor should be ok.

If it is flashing the you need to count the number of blinks then this will tell you the fault.

    Re: Are we liable

It was still the customers decision to take up the flooring and if you had to go back under your warranty on the repair and the machine had to be removed then the floor would still have had to come up.

I would point out to the customer if they ever had a leak it makes sense the appliance can be removed quickly to avoid any damage.

It was your engineers opinion the floor needed to come up to remove the appliance but it was the customers decision to remove it so you are not liable.

    Re: Are we liable

Your engineer did the right thing and did not remove it as it was incorrectly installed.

If the customer removed the flooring then it is the customers problem.

Just point out to the customer when the flooring is refitted to make sure the appliance can be removed without removing the flooring in case of any problems in the future.

Yes Simon is good and never any problems with payment.

Simon has been in the Trade a long time and you receive payment 1 month after the job is completed

Re: liebherr ikb 3650 larder fridge temp on display 15 degre

Is the compressor running when it is showing 15 deg ?

If the compressor is hot and running it may be a refrigerant fault.

If the compressor cuts out then it is normaly a sensor fault.

    Unlikely to be a PCB.

Behind the rear panel inside the freezer, Ice build up.

You will have to defrost the ice.

The rubber non return valve above the compressor may be stuck so the defrost water cannot drain away.

    Most likely the fan motor.

If the thermostat had lost its gas then it would not run at all.

The fan switch fo the door is operated by a magnet so if you find the magnet on the door you will know the position on the fridge to put a magnet to test.

If the fan moves a bit but no further then on this make of fridge and age of the fridge it is most likely the fan faulty.

Re: Fridge compressor runs but doesn’t switch off?

It is more likely to be the compressor at fault worn and not pumping correctly or it has a small leak and lost some gas.

If the thermostat had a fault then it would not run at all.

It is a sign the refrigerant is not getting cold enough near the thermostat sensing point.

As it is 20 years old it would be beyond economical repair.

Almost certainly it will be a faulty defrost heater.
