Most of the time on a fridge freezer it is one of 2 things.

The most common is a defrost heater.

The next common fault would be the Compressor.

The first thing to try is disconnect the defrost heater then see if it trips or preferably test with a mega meter.

On most Bosch fridge freezers the plugs should fit on easily.

If any are difficult to fit on easily then it is in the incorrect position.

If you look carfully at the plugs you will see groves on the side of them that match the grooves on the sockets.

Yes easy to replace the long pipe is part of the stat and is filled with gas.

The pipe feeds down a small tube so you just pull the old one out and feed the new one in carefully so as not to kink or break the pipe.

It would have a leak somewhere to lose the gas.

Or the compressor has failed and is not compressing the gas.

It sounds like it has lost the gas or the compressor is faulty not pumping.

As it is 8 years old then I would say it is Beyond economical repair.

Sounds like the compressor is faulty drawing too much power then tripping the compressor overload cut out / Klixon.

Not a cheap or DIY repair.

The super cool button overrides the thermostat so this sounds like a faulty thermostat.

Re: Samsung American style F/F leaking

It is unlikely leaking from the pipes itself.

If it is leaking at the front it is most likely the john guest fitting at the front.

This is under the kick plate at the front near the freezer door side,

The kick plate is held on by three screws.

The other place is at the back on the water solinoid this is behind the rear plate on the back.

The link you have to E spares is correct it is a round 2.5kw element.

Also try the WTA shop it might be cheaper.

If the fan is working then the thermostat should be ok.

The most common fault would be the element.

It may be just a neon fault if the the light is not working but it is hard to know what the fault is without testing it.

    Hi Ken

You are in a no win situation no matter what you say there is someone ready to have a go.

You try your best for everyone with good intentions but sometimes things do not go to plan.

You have tried to put your side but if people ignore it or do not believe you, you are in a no win situation .

I hope the new year brings good luck to you and hope for a better year.

Try to have a Happy Christmas and forget work.

    Best wishes

    Bob
