    Re: Miele G685SC Dishwasher

Dunno this model but theres a reactivation solenoid mounted on the side of the reactivation tank on most of those Miele dishwashers. I remember seeingn some of the newer ones on a couse, theres a little PCB mounted on the side of the tank, it monitors conductivity of the water this may be the problem or wiring from this to electronic.
Problem I see most with Miele dishwashers is in the drying fan.

    Re: Miele w459

W459 was last manufactured in 1983, its a pretty old one. I think there could be a faulty start switch on it, which is advancing the timer all the time.
W459’s made after that date will have a letter after them eg W459S or W459U etc

Yeah as Gegsy says, the paddles in the drum are insulated form the main drumm, a resistance reading is taken by the electronics which turns off the heat when clothes are dry. Take top off machine see where brushes run on slip-ring. Check for brush wear, also check for deposit of dirt / dust etc shorting between paddles & drum at mounting. Best to check for heating on programme “TIMED HEATING” which is not an automatic programme.

Has this machine a rotary knob selector or buttons? The G676 from memory has a little clutch plate behind the knob that sometimes breaks this can cause only one programme to work. CHECK model number again as theres several variants G676 SC,SCI plus, etc etc

    Re: Hotpoint WF340 no go

Yeah, that was it, dodgy motor. Open circuit coil. pitted armature also, motor seems to have bad bearing as it catches in one position when you turn it by hand, this machine was brand new & used once or twice in a rented accomodation, failed & landlord never bothered about it & its now over a year old…

    Re: CREDA slot in 48356

I did one of these recently that had a blown grill element, it had taken out the selector switch contact on “Top Oven Switch ” & hence grill wouldn’t work.
Basically theres a normally closed contact on the TOP OVEN selector switch, this prevents Top Oven & Grill being used together, so when you switch on Top Oven it breaks supply to Grill .
You can check for continuity using a test meter.
In off position of top oven, selector switch contact for grill should be closed circuit, if you understand that.

If you feel brave you can link the two wires together on the selector switch to see if grill will work, but be sure they are the ones used for grill as some are used for cooling fan etc on this type of appliance.

MrDave, every Miele appliance has a schematic diagram of electrical components & wiring diagram inside the appliance, i would help you with any fault codes you need if you can post Model Number & age of appliance please.
