    Re: Smeg UK STX1 E9

I think from memory i had one of these buggers last year, problem was caused by build up of sh1t, remove filter in sump & push in a long ty-wrap into pipe from sump, wiggle it about a few times, fill & empty & this should get rid of gunge & cure problem, another one that you don’t find in the service manual !

    Re: Hotpoint Mistral 8496p

Cheers guys for the tips, fitted thermistor only to get a phone call after a few days to say it was gone wonky again, just to advise anyone else the problem actually was an overloaded door (as someone said on here). When i went out to look at appliance customer always had door of fridge emptied. When i did checks all was o.k but when i left door was loaded up again to the max causing door to drop down, hence light stayed on inside causing fridge temp to rise & fan doesn’t turn so no circulation of cold air, beware the gallon bottles of milk in the door is the lesson to be learned!

    Re: Creda 17076 thermistor wiring

No problems with connections, no loose wires at plug etc, as i said the machine boils all the time, so i ordered a ‘stat & was sent a thermistor instead, thermistor has 2 conections while ‘stat had 3, hotpoint told me when i rang them thats its the only one listed for the machine??

    Re: Creda 17076 thermistor wiring

The model is 17076 & timer is AKO TYP 514 081, 904 2385 04, with module which pushes on to back of timer, cable from thermostat plugs on to bottom of timer via 5way rast type plug, 2 wires also go to pump! Is it possible to modify the wiring to take a thermistor & why is that info not supplied with part?

Ta for all the advice, yeah its a stinker, but i got through it with any cuts or fingers missing, I used a bit of pipe i had in the van over the motor pulley & eased the belt on, jeez they’re tight, gonna put severe pressure on bearings i’d imagine in years to come!

    Re: Miele dishwasher g858

Off the top of my head, Miele dishwashers have a “Top Solo Function” this is similar to 1/2 load, a solenoid near the circulation pump is used to allow or prevent water going to the lower spray arm, this sticks sometimes with debris grease etc, from memory i’ve never had to replace any, just had to remove & spray with wd40 etc to clean & put back in place, hope this is helpful.

    Re: wma30

A problem I encounter on this model often is the ball valve in the sump hose blocked or stuck with debris, this can cause strange things to happen, water doesn’t always pump out & pressure switch shows water still in machine so no spin.

Have had a problem with SGS43A22GB/01 model, actually found part of top spray arm, lodged underneath mushroom & preventing in moving, anyone know part no for repair kit for this machine, as we sell lots of this model in our shop & i reckon i’ll need to carry spare in my van if they’re prone to trouble. Ta.
