The fabric conditioner symbol flashing denotes program dial in wrong position, so check little cable connection to selector & at main board, or selector itself may be duff
E18 may be last fault code detected, unbalanced load

    Re: Bleckmann heater/pump units

Most heaters are doubly controlled by these safety cut-outs, one is normally a resetting type which will control heater by going on & off, the second is a higher rating non resetting type which when open circuit cuts out heater completely. They are safety devices to prevent heater working when there’s no water for instance.
From field experience i’ve seen, the heaters are going open circuit via temp’ cut-outs rather than element windings being open circuit, I believe most of the problems with heater failure to be due to dirty filters & overdosing of detergent.
Overdosing of detergent is a problem as suds reduce amount of water going through heater, likewise dirty filters will reduce flow through heater.
Filters i’ve seen are mostly gunged up by undissolved plastic wrap off tablets due to low temperature & or short cycles being used.

Perhaps something caught in impellor of drain pump or wash pump.

Power off, investigate each pump for foreign objects.

Check wiring to NTC, it can break in the loom.

    Cooling fan?
Check location that you put thermal cut-out, maybe its too close to oven wall, perhaps locate next one not so close, the wee bracket that comes with it allows movement.

It will drain while doing the distribute part of programme, which basically is the drum going around faster than wash speed, we’re told this is its design & it is extracting the suds etc, not a brilliant idea t.b.h, but that’s how its designed, for people who use too much detergent its a problem & forces leakages from soap drawer.

Check filter to make sure there’s nothing blocking water getting away.

E20 means not draining, or not seeing that water has been drained.

Do a complete defrost on it, switch off for 24 hours, leaving doors open, maybe the fans, ducting at rear is frozen over, when switching back on, set temp’ 4 & -18, should run best at this.

Think the Grundig one has a motorized valve which if stuck will not make the position its supposed to be in to start wash motor.
