    Re: Miele G1180vI

G1180 will try to start circulation motor 10 times after it fills with water & if pressure is not sensed it will abort programme.
I presume this is whats happening.
You will need to check circulation motor to see if its seized up.
Remove base of machine, 2screws at front under plinth & 2 screws on base near back , remove bracket screw on lower back panel mounting motor. Remove hoses & unclip pressure switch & wiring. Motor should ease out. Take heater plate off pump & you should then see if theres an obstruction fouling the impellor.
Sometimes these seize up if they haven’t been used for a while & you may find that it just needs a sharp turn to release.

Is there a selector switch on Top-Oven stat? Just an idea most grills are also controlled via top oven selector switch, but not sure of this one,,

Many dishwashers are now made with mechanical device, either motorised or solenoid diverters which means water is only going through one of the spray arms at a time, they alternate throughout the programme. If you think theres a problem look at the actuator device that operates this system, it could be sticking in one position.

Yeah, i believe it to be bad insulation on element & what I do is run element with just live & neutral without earth connection ( to dry out element ) . * don’t let anyone near appliance that you are working at during this test period of course.
I find that once you get that done theres no problem & you can connect earth connection after 5 mins or so.

I’m a big Bruce Springsteen fan, Born To Run was the first album I bought, it was re-released last year with concert DVD which was great to get.
If you ever get the chance try & see him in concert, i’ve had the pleasure of seeing him live 5 times in the last 2 years and 15 times in total, one of the Dublin shows will be released as a live album in a few weeks, check it out.

    Re: MIELE PARTS

Every Miele machine has a circuit diagram sheet & parts list enclosed, a lot more technical info than is provided with other makes. Most of the work I do for Miele is warranty work so the price is not normally a problem, but they are good quality you can’t deny that. I had the pleasure of servicing a 28 y’old Miele machine last year. Lets hope the new ICE-10 is of similar quality. I’d like to be able to recommend a machine that would last.

    Re: ISE – 10

My opinion would be that we should be looking at providing machines at the “average” price scale. eg £300-£350. The amount of customers out there prepared to shell out an extra £500 for a machine is very small. I’ve been trying to flog Miele machines for years on there build quality, quarantee etc but most customers don’t wanna cough up that kinda money even with 10 year guarantee.

Would plastic cable ties not be in danger of failure with the residual heat from the element? I always use the thin jubilee clips (9900250) they are dear but at least they’re right for the job, i’ve used ordinary jubilee clips in the past but they come off, they’re too wide & don’t sit on hose correctly.

    Re: Miele Pyro oven

What model? Modern Miele ovens have a pyrolytic cleaning process where it heats to near 500 C & locks the door during this automatic process which from memory only lasts 2 & 1/2 hours. I thought the max period of a cooking process was 12 hours but i may be wrong.
You can view any instruction booklets of Miele current appliances at http://www.miele.co.uk
