    Re: washing machine bearing removal

If you are talking 95/WM series and in the trade GLM in Wednesfield supplied me a good kit. It uses a special disc with flats on it that uses the drum shaft to extract the front bearing outer race if broken. They are strictly trade only though!

If the connector pin has arcd onto the PCB the new PCB will be damaged by the blackend pin. I always turn them over. fresh metal to new board.

    Re: labour charges

I only hope appliance prices will rise due to WEEE /raw material costs.
I am also doing those horrible jobs to try and boost my 6K a year wages. Chris also pointed me in the direction of letting agency work as a regular income. Am not Vat registered so one good thing. Am thinking of applying for employment. Funnily enough there was a Gias engineer in front of me at the bank queue and he did not look happy!
I dont mind getting filthy as long as it pays!

    Best regards

Sparkey i followed your kind instructions to the letter and fridge/freezer was running brilliantly and cooling when i left. Funkyboogy’s post worried me when he said 1 and 4 need to be joined. thought i would have a problem when defrost kicked in but customer has not rung me to say there is a problem.

What kind of turnover/ profit /wages should a self employed bloke doing chargeable work only see(without premises). Am getting ready to submit tax return and this has got to be the worst year on record.

    Many thanks

    Re: Hotpoint Mistral

The fault will cause the fan in the freezer not to run(no cold air being blown into fridge). When the fridge is running opening and closing the fridge door/operation of light on off will cause the fan to stop/ start. If the evaporator thermistor is faulty, the fridge will think it is not down to temp after defrost therefore no fan operation. Also a dropped fridge door(light staying on will cause this fault. freezer temp may appear normal. fridge will run around +18. Hope this helps.

Well fitted board no different. Carried out mod all now OK. 1st 4 pin version i have seen. With the 3 pin connector i have always found the compressor to run once from switch on. Interior light was on dimly though.

Are you talking about the electric fan motor conversion kit to replace the belt driven fan?
