I expect you are referring to the defrost timer if it is a frost free freezer. Removes power from compressor, switches on heater in evaporator, melts ice, drains away. other wise huge ice block will form jamming fan.

Usually the electronic control module. Will fail in run all the time mode so you keep your freezer contents. Unplug power if you are going to have a lokk yourself.

Yes a blue disc has not been found in the diswasher has it? should fit in rinse aid lid.

😆 Thanks Mal. Waited 3 weeks for genuine stat to come from Germany. Turns out the stat was in stock all the time in UK for KIUE1350/23A001. 👿

I expect the brushes will be worn out or just about to wear out after 10 yrs(crackling noise). Available from the Shop@. Unplug Power if you are going to have a look yourself Or Repairs@ for an engineer.

Have you noticed the machine struggling to empty on spin and is the “rough” noise there before the drum starts turning?
